CHAPTER 333
CHAPTER 333: Intensifying Predicament
Just as Lu Ming adjusted the array formation, blocking the perception of the outside world, Lin Feng immediately sensed that something was wrong.
If earlier it was as though he had installed a high-definition camera in Lu Ming’s courtyard, allowing him to witness the satisfying scene of Bo Hao capturing and beating Lu Ming, now, after the array’s change, that scene had become inaccessible.
“A bit regrettable…” Lin Feng muttered.
“And this junior brother of mine… when it comes to array formations, he’s far stronger than I imagined.”
With a sigh, Lin Feng shook his head.
“But it doesn’t matter.”
He was still confident that the outcome wouldn’t change.
Three minutes later, Lin Feng’s frown deepened.
“Bo Hao’s taking too long…”
Bo Hao, a level-seven Ancient Realm expert, against Lu Ming—three minutes was unacceptable.
“Maybe he’s a little sentimental after encountering a genius,” Kebo said with a smile. “But we can’t waste too much time. Lady Moonfiend is not a patient person. Sikong Zhen, go check it out.”
“Yes, my lord.”
Sikong Zhen, an eighth-level Ancient Realm expert, and Kebo’s subordinate, stepped forward.
Lin Feng didn't give it much thought and simply instructed, “I can’t monitor what’s happening over there now. If something goes wrong, shout my name—I’ll hear it.”
Sikong Zhen chuckled coldly, cracking his knuckles.
“What could possibly go wrong? Just a brat. I’ll handle it in a minute.”
A teleportation light flashed.
Sikong Zhen felt a momentary daze as he landed, stabilizing himself.
Before he could get his bearings, a calm voice rang out next to his ear.
“Allocate points!”
“Allocate points!”
What the hell does that mean? Sikong Zhen wondered.
In the next second, a powerful force surged into his mind.
Smack!
Bang!
Lu Ming slapped Sikong Zhen’s head with a backhand, splitting it open.
A minute passed, but there was still no sign of Sikong Zhen or Bo Hao.
Lin Feng, Kebo, and the others exchanged puzzled glances. Kebo’s face darkened.
“Lin Feng, could you have made a mistake and teleported them somewhere they weren’t supposed to go?”
Lin Feng frowned and snapped, “Do I look like an idiot to you?”
Though Lin Feng was weaker in strength, his backing was formidable. Kebo had to hold back his temper when Lin Feng spoke so harshly. “Then what’s going on?”
A level-seven Ancient Realm expert and a level-eight Ancient Realm expert had vanished without a trace. Given that one of them was Kebo’s right-hand man, it wasn’t surprising that Kebo’s tone was far from friendly.
Lin Feng considered for a moment before clapping his hands as if struck by a revelation.
“That brat’s playing dirty with us!”
He continued, “I’d bet he has a Semi-Divine Realm bodyguard. At first, the Semi-Divine Realm expert stayed hidden, but then Lu Ming altered the formation, cutting off my surveillance. That’s when Lu Ming called for help and set a trap for Sikong Zhen and Bo Hao!”
The more Lin Feng thought about it, the more plausible it seemed.
Taking a deep breath, Lin Feng sneered, “Well, well, this guy’s got tricks even on the brink of death!”
The other Semi-Divine expert, Deng Miao, spoke softly. “How many Semi-Divine experts does Three Elements Academy have?”
“One. Just one,” Lin Feng replied.
Semi-Divine Realm experts were only one step below the Divine Realm, making them formidable figures. There had originally been three Semi-Divines in the academy, but with the recent war intensifying, two had gone to the front lines. Only one remained, and Lin Feng was certain of that information.
After hearing this, Kebo immediately decided, “No more going one by one. This time, the three of us will go together.”
“Two Semi-Divine experts and one level-nine Ancient Realm expert. Even if Lu Ming has a Semi-Divine bodyguard protecting him, he won’t be able to withstand all three of us at once!”
Deng Miao nodded. “Agreed.”
Lin Feng and the level-nine expert, Rafe, had no objections either.
The teleportation light flickered again.
Kebo, Deng Miao, and Rafe instantly disappeared.
In the frozen land, before the Ten Thousand Devil Abyss, Moonfiend stood gazing up at the massive Blood Demon Gate in the sky. In front of it loomed the Ice Pillar Demon God, Jeros.
His demonic body stretched to the heavens, channeling a torrent of Divine Origin into the Blood Demon Gate, like a storm.
At that moment, Jeros’ aura was truly awe-inspiring.
Behind him lay the ominous Ten Thousand Devil Abyss.
Legend had it that the abyss was bottomless, reaching the earth’s core, filled with countless dangers. Even gods risked death if they ventured too deep.
But today, the abyss was under the control of a single being—the Desolate Demon Lord, the Ancient Demon Clan’s most powerful protector.
With her using divine level perception, Moonfiend could sense that while the aura under the abyss was calm and concealed, the danger emanating from it was magnitudes more terrifying than Jeros’ aura.
“Why are you here?” came the cold, indifferent voice of the Desolate Demon Lord from beneath the abyss.
Moonfiend hesitated, but then replied, “I’m just here to observe.”
“Ah.” The Desolate Demon Lord’s response was brief and he fell silent, uninterested in conversing further.
It wasn’t surprising. While both belonged to the Subverter faction, he was the Ancient Demon Clan’s leader and its guardian god, whereas Moonfiend had a notorious reputation and was relatively weaker. The fact that he even acknowledged her presence was already generous.
But Moonfiend wasn’t satisfied. She smiled and said, “Lord Desolate, perhaps you’re unaware, but Lu Ming—Jiu Han’s last disciple—has a personal grudge against me. If I could see him dead, or better yet, capture him alive, it would bring me great satisfaction…”
The Desolate Demon Lord understood her implication.
After a moment’s thought, he asked, “If you wish to capture him, why don’t you do it yourself?”
Moonfiend’s expression faltered. After a long pause, she mumbled, “It’s… far too dangerous to venture deep into Eternal Clan territory…”
“And now? It’s not that dangerous, is it?” the Desolate Demon Lord asked coolly.
With the Blood Demon Gate now open, Moonfiend had a perfect escape route. Jeros and the Desolate Demon Lord were standing guard. Given these circumstances, the danger had significantly lessened.
Moonfiend thought it over. “I’ve already sent people to capture him. Now, we wait.”
The Desolate Demon Lord gave a nod but clearly didn’t care to engage any further. In truth, Moonfiend’s cowardice was apparent. She had always been reluctant to act directly, even now.
Still, Moonfiend pressed on. “If my subordinates can’t handle it, perhaps Lord Jeros could…”
The Desolate Demon Lord fell silent.
After a brief pause, he muttered, “Deal with your own matters. Do you expect us to do everything, even capturing a junior?”
He stopped short of adding, “What a waste of space,” but Moonfiend could easily imagine the rest.
