I Need Wives For My Gacha System

Chapter 11: Chapter-11

"Laura-nee!"

"Rex, you are already back"

Laura said with a giggle.

"You need to be more careful, Laura-nee"

"This is already the second time"

"What would happen to you if I weren't here"

He said and looked at her who was smiling even though he was reprimanding her. What he didn't know was she did it intentionally. She already heard him opening the gate but didn't get out of the way so that this could happen.

"Well, it wouldn't be a problem if you were always beside me right"

To her answer, Rex had a speechless expression on his face.

"I won't bother with it anymore, what were you doing before, Laura-nee"

"Decorating"

"Mom and I just arrived back not too long ago but we thought that it would be better to get it started quickly so that it doesn't get late"

"Can I help with the decorations"

"You will need to ask mom about that, Rex"

"I don't want it to end up like last time"

She said with a fake sad expression on her face. Even though she was scolded by her mother, she didn't regret it, doing things together with Rex. The result was that the proposal was rejected by his aunt.

That night similar to the night before, he heard a familiar knock on the door, it was Laura who came with the same purpose as yesterday.

The next day was the day of the opening of the festival. While going on a jog with Clarissa, he saw how the village had prepared for the festival. Though he had seen what they were doing in the previous days, it can only said to be uncomplete. Similar to how a painting is when uncomplete, people would not recognize what was being painted but after the finishing touch, the true essence and appearance would be seen.

In the same, he saw the finished festival appearance of the village and only say,

"Wow"

"Wait till, it's night time, it will look even better" Looking at his surprised expression, Clarissa said while feeling a sour taste in her mouth due to the fact that the first day of the festival would be handed over to her rival.

Rex felt as if many changes had taken place, the festive place he used to remember though still festive looks quite different from when he was here before. Even though it looked strange to him, the changes were for a positive turn and he felt satisfied.

As Rex stepped out of the dressing room wearing the black hanfu Laura had chosen for him, he seemed to embody a prince from an ancient legend. The hanfu chosen by her, suited his lean yet muscular frame though there was a few which he had to try on before this one. The white fabric, adorned with silver patterns resembling dragons curling up the sleeves and down the hem. All of the hanfus he wore before as well as this one were tailored made. He didn't know when Laura contacted the store but he didn't mind.

His silver hair was now carefully styled, suited his handsome face. The longer strands near his temples, while the rest fell naturally complemented his overall look. His icy blue eyes, radiant and piercing, seemed to glow carrying a calm yet magnetic intensity that made it impossible to look away.

Coming out of the dressing room, Laura and the sales clerk looked at him with sparkling eyes and knew that this was the correct one and inside the mind of the sales clerk, thoughts about how to get this young man appeared but looking at the beautiful woman beside her, she gave up voluntarily. She knew her limits.

"You look... amazing, Rex"

"This suits you well"

"How much is the rest of the payment"

Laura had already given the down payment.

"It's fine, Laura-nee, I will pay for it"

Seeing the determined expression as she silently looked up at him, he stopped as he let her pay for it. As for how he arrived at this hanfu shop,

{Flashback}

Coming out of his room after taking a shower and readying up, he came out with a simple jeans and a t-shirt. He went to Laura's room and knocked on her door,

"Laura-nee, are you finished yet"

"Almost!"

"Just a sec…"

Laura was breath taking in her hanfu. She wore a deep crimson ensemble with delicate silver floral embroidery trailing down the sleeves and skirt. The design flowed like cascading petals, complementing her fair, porcelain-like skin. The contrast of the crimson fabric against her dark hair was striking, creating a vivid image of beauty and grace.

Her raven-black hair, usually left loose, was elegantly styled into a half-up bun, with the rest flowing down her back in glossy waves. A silver hairpin adorned with a small dangling crystal rested in her bun, catching the light and adding an ethereal touch to her already captivating appearance. Her hazel eyes, shimmering with warmth, now carried a playful glint. She twirled and asked Rex,

"What do you think? How do I look?"

"You look stunning, Laura-nee"

"Thank you"

She also looked at him but her hand reached her chin looking like she was inspecting his wear.

"Why don't you also wear a hanfu?"

{End of Flashback}

In the end, he was dragged to this hanfu shop. Whether or not she already had this intention in the first place, he only knew after he saw her pre-designed tailored made hanfus made for him.

As they left the shop, the sun had set, and the village glowed with the soft light of golden lanterns. Strings of lights crisscrossed above the streets, and the air buzzed with excitement.

"It's beautiful"

Laura smiled warmly, slipping her arm through his.

"It'll get crowded soon. We should stick together."

Her gesture startled him, but he didn't pull away. They wandered through the festival, visiting stalls one after another. They stopped by various stalls which were both new and ones which they had visited before in the previous days but since it was a day of festival, there seemed to be more stalls and people.

At one point, they stopped by a calligraphy booth where they tried drawing calligraphy. Laura skilfully drew hers which drew the attention of some and Rex himself, leaving him stunned.

"What are you waiting for?"

His clumsy strokes made her giggle, and she leaned close to guide his hand. They dropped by a dessert shop and Rex had a popsicle in his hands whereas Laura had ice-cream in hers. A sudden burst of fireworks lit up the night sky drew the attention of Laura who looked back after the spectacle had finished to see that her ice-cream had decreased a little.

She looked at Rex and saw a small bit of strawberry ice-cream left on his mouth.

"Rex! Why did you secretly eat mine?"

"You could have asked me you know"

"Now, you will have to bear compensation"

She took his hand and bit into the popsicle and took out a large chunk. Looking at his stunned appearance and the small bit of ice-cream which was still on his mouth,

"Geez, look at you"

"Come closer"

She took away the ice-cream with her delicate fingers and ate it.

"What are you doing"
