My name is Kaiser, what’s your name?
- Historia Pov -
At this very moment, I can see my father standing in the middle of this room as if he is addressing the individuals there.
Even though this isn't the first time I've been to this place, I still have the impression that the people who come here are very strange and could pose a threat.
Even if there are young children who are the same age as me, I do not want to play with them because I can see the insanity in the eyes of those children, just as I can see it in the eyes of the people who come here.
"really boring."
I said it in a low voice, but after that, I suddenly recalled the boy who had red eyes and white hair earlier. So I attempted to catch another glimpse of him.
However, it is only natural for me to feel let down because he is not there anymore. But nevertheless, as I searched the area, hoping to find him, I was suddenly taken aback by something.
The young man I need to find is approaching me from a distance, and there is a nun standing next to him who is staring at me with a stony expression.
I became overwhelmed with anxiety and had no idea what to do, and in an instant, the boy was standing right in front of me.
"Why were you staring at me earlier?"
Suddenly, the boy asked me a question that took me completely by surprise.
However, I eventually responded to his question. However, due to the fact that I am an introvert by nature, the sound that emanated from my mouth sounded extremely muffled.
"I... didn't stare at you."
Even after I answered his question, the boy continued to inquire.
"why did you lie?"
This time, I was at a loss for words. All I could do was shake my head. After that, I lowered my chin slightly downward because the boy's red eyes kept staring into mine, which made me even more anxious.
"My name is Kaiser. What's your name?"
The young man kept making attempts to communicate with me, almost as if he wasn't going to give up. Even now, I can see his hand reaching out towards me, but I have no idea what he was trying to tell me by doing that.
Suddenly, I was aware that he was grabbing my right hand, and after that, he compelled me to shake his hand.
I was taken aback for a moment, but then I came to my senses and quickly removed my hand from the boy's. This time, however, I increased the amount of attention I paid to him while I was looking at him.
However, the gentle smile that had been on his face suddenly changed into a look of melancholy as he continued speaking.
"Does my appearance strike you as odd as well?" Because I was still considering the implications of what he had said, I refrained from giving an immediate response.
The young man then turned around and gave the impression that he wanted to walk away while apologizing, "Don't worry about it, and I'm sorry if I frightened you."
After seeing his reaction, for some reason, I felt sorry for him, and on the other hand, I was also curious about him, so I said something to stop him from moving forward.
"wait."
When I saw him turn, I immediately responded to the question he had asked, "You don't look weird..."
"...however, I believe that it is quite lovely..."
My heart skipped a beat for no apparent reason after I finished saying the second part of the sentence.
"Thank you," remarked the young man with a grin on his face, and all of a sudden, I found myself smiling awkwardly as well.
After that, I made an effort to compliment him because I wanted him to feel better about himself and gain self-assurance as a result of my words.
"Your name... just like your appearance, is very beautiful."
The young man asked with a friendly smile on his face, "But I still don't know what your name is."
When I found out that, I couldn't help but smile timidly. However, this time I introduced myself by name.
"Greetings, my name is Hist..."
But before I could finish my sentence, a nun who was walking with a boy named Kaiser arrived, the nun leaned in and whispered something into his ear.
"I'm sorry, but I have to be the one to start," After that, the boy dashed off in a hurry, and he didn't even wait to hear what I had to say.
I have no choice but to take a few deep breaths. Then, I can only stand here and watch Kaiser leave with a disappointed expression on my face.
Somehow I feel happy to be acquainted with him. Even though his appearance is unusual, his aura looks different from the other children here.
Even though he is only five years old, he is more mature. In addition to this, the beautiful red eyes he has don't seem to have any strangeness or hidden agendas.
-
Shortly after that, my father walked back towards me while maintaining the usual unruffled expression on his face.
"Historia, do you notice anything out of the ordinary? Why are you cracking a smile all of a sudden?" my father questioned me.
"mmm... there isn't anything."
After that, people who appeared eager to speak to my father, like the ones who were standing outside earlier, went to see my father, and I said something while shaking my head excessively.
"I hope mom isn't mad at me for being late..."
"or maybe I want her to be mad at me..."
"I'm not sure either..."
I couldn't help but let out a sigh, and not long after the event came to a close, everyone walked out and got into their respective horse carriages.
On my way out the front door, I tried to locate the boy named Kaiser from earlier, and my eyes lit up when I found him.
'Hmm, he seems to be from the church,' I uttered the words in my mind.
Because I could see that Kaiser was currently riding in the carriage with the nun who had told something in his ear, as well as two middle-aged male priests.
"Come on, Historia."
I was startled awake by my father's voice telling me to get into the carriage. After taking one last look at the boy, I then climbed into the carriage with a disappointed expression on my face.

Even while I was travelling, I couldn't stop thinking about that one boy who went by the name of Kaiser.
"Father, when will an event like this be held again."
My father turned to me with a confused expression, but he still answered my question, "Perhaps in the following month."
When I heard that, I let out a sigh of relief because normally, this event takes place once every few months, but it appears that I'll have the opportunity to meet the boy within the next month.
"What's the matter, Historia? Haven't you always despised attending this event?" It's possible that after seeing the smile on my face, my father was left wondering, which is why he asked questions of that nature.
"Nothing, I'm just curious about something," I replied.
After that, I leaned back on the carriage seat and slowly closed my eyes.
'Kaiser.'
