Chapter 12
[12] Not for long in a good place (2)
The elder smiles lovingly at Leona, looking at her with dazzling eyes.
“And this child is going to be our new family. Right?”
“Can I really live here?”
“Since there are many vacant rooms, many vacant lands, and not enough hands, we are welcome.”
“Wow…”
Leona opened her eyes wide as she gave her permission to live so happily. In the shared housing, children were often not welcomed because they were often members of the military. In places where leaders had strong power, there were also places where they banned giving birth, saying that only rice would be wasted.
Knowing that, Leono nods his head with a fist, either overwhelmed or overwhelmed. Now you don’t have to be afraid of stealing, but also the eyes in the dark every night in the wild.
Leona felt overwhelmed by that.
“Grandpa, I’ll work hard.”
“Then I should prepare a feast to welcome a new family.”
The elder looked at Gene and said,
“Don’t you want to settle down? We could use a hunter, as good as you are.”
“Grandpa, I’m a really great hunter, even though Jean’s a little out of shape. I’m a witness.”
Leona whispers in a serious voice, and Gin shakes her head.
“The old man would know if he was in the nest.”
“Mmmm… Yes… That’s right… That’s too bad.”
The elder said that as if he was sorry, but he didn’t say the same thing again.
“Don’t kill the hunter. ‘
Hunters who do not wander are not hunters. Hunters don’t stop. It just flows. You have to wander the wilderness towards the end point given to you.
There’s no reason to be, but even hunters have principles and beliefs. The elder nods slowly as if to see you again.
And when I looked back at Gene, the old man’s eyes changed. And his voice changed.
“A hunter who keeps the rules. I’ve met a nobleman.”
“I tend to think there should be one fundamentalist.”
Gene laughs after saying so.
“At least take a few days off. It’s not a life without us.”
“No, I’ll be right there.”
Gene smiles bitterly. And I said it again.
“‘I won’t stay in a good place for long.'”
“There were such commandments…. Yes…”
I don’t stay in a good place for long.
It makes me want to settle down. Since it is difficult to take off your feet again, the better the hunter passes by. What the hunter should be most wary of are good people, good villages, comfort and tranquility. The biggest enemy of hunters is not a monster, but a resting place. You cannot be a hunter unless you walk again.
Leona doesn’t understand what you’re saying, but she only realizes that there’s some meaning to the conversation between the elder and Jean.
“Go. I hope your journey doesn’t reach this town.” ”
A greeting from a hunter.
“I hope I don’t come back either.”
Greetings from the hunter.
I want to stay where no hunter is needed.
I want this place to be a place where no hunters are needed.
After saying such a greeting, Gene took the payment and left the place where the elder was. The Elder does not follow, but Leona does.
“Are you going straight?”
“Of course.”
“Oh, come on.”
“What does that mean?”
“No, it’s just, you know, you can leave in a little bit, right? What’s the rush?”
Leona scratches her cheek because of her unspeakable emotions. New villages, safe villages, and rare walls. After all, it’s a home thanks to Jean who brought me here. After all, Jin is a hunter and leaves town.
“Even if you’re a hunter, you can rest, right?”
Leona bites her lip quietly, whispering as if she had something to say.
Gene looked at the young child, faced the child’s gaze, and many thoughts passed by.
It was a memory, a hallucination, a recall, an engraving.
It was all the moments of life that I had regretted after turning around.
“If I had weighed it down, I wouldn’t have been a hunter.”
“…….”
“You’re a pretty good kid.”
“That’s a compliment, right?”
“Yes, but.”
Jin said slowly, chewing on the horse.
“In this glossy world, I’m happiest when I don’t have to use any talents.”
Gene has been experiencing feelings for a long time, ever since the quest at Ad Point, and feels strongly that he should leave them behind.
“You will live a safe and talented life here. Then it won’t be any worse than it needs to be.”
Leona is a fierce human being, and if you build farming instead of killing people and wandering the wilderness with her fierceness, it will be a good life.
It’s only been a few days. Three days. I just walked in the middle of a fight. But in this world, fate is too easy to come by.
Humans sometimes hate humans, but in the end,
Desperate for people.
Leona stares at Gin with a firm look on her face.
“You use too many difficult words.”
Leona adds.
“It’s hard to understand….”
Leona vomits.
“Those difficult words, can’t you stay here and teach them?”
I don’t know what caused Leona to feel this vague. But it will be vague. Maybe he felt something while talking to someone for the first time, a cat that had no place to put his mind.
Just as he had finally realized that his feelings had been lonely.
It’s like you’re afraid of loneliness after you taste something that’s not lonely.
Gene shakes his head.
“Hard words aren’t really necessary to live.”
Gene added, turning his steps.
“So, live without knowing that.”
Leona didn’t cry. We don’t have that kind of relationship. It’s just a shame. I wish I could talk a little more.
I’m just thinking about it.
Gene just raises his hand to the prison wall. Leona mutters, seeing such a gin.
“You’re an amateur. Is that…?”
Hunters stay behind everyone.
It disappears, leaving only a rear view.
So, he doesn’t look back.
“Damn it, break your foot on the way!”
Leona yells.
Jin leaves Ad Point without ever seeing the White Goose again. I don’t feel like leaving in a hurry, but there’s nothing for hunters to do in a town that’s done with business. It is not in principle for a hunter to go on quests and stay in a town with no quests.
We have to go back to a town and solve the problem, get the chips, and extend our lives little by little. The camp stops when the Aad Point is hidden in the mountainside of the buildup.
In fact, Gene knew he was in a hurry. You can take a day off. Keeping the commandments is only a matter of belief.
As Leona said, it’s okay to rest as long as you’re human.
Darkness passes through the darkest of times. It’s not that I haven’t met someone who cares.
It’s not like I haven’t met the town I care about.
Instead, Jean hurried to meet me because I met her, met her, and met her.
Hunters must be unique. No colleagues, no friends. The faster you die as a hunter who doesn’t have the monopoly, it’s not just a matter of discipline, it’s a matter of survival.
The White Goose will live as a good Guard Commander. I’m not a philosopher, but I’m smart, and with that ingenuity I’m going to maximize the safety of my points.
The Elder is distributed large enough to clear out 300 chips for the town’s crisis and considers the safety of its residents the best. Although he may have grown old, Ard Point may not prosper, but he will be at ease while his lifespan allows.
Leona had no choice but to describe Jean as a peculiar species in her hand.
‘I can’t help but think he’s a strange one.’
Even though the White Goose and Elder could explain it, Leona was difficult to define in one word. However, some of Leona’s advantages and disadvantages would be sufficient if they would help her live in Ad Point. Hunters don’t stay.
Giving chips will give a home to the person who lost it, avenge them, and kill the monster. Once everything is resolved, we go somewhere else.
The user collects chips and makes weapons to kill monsters with them. The user collects chips again to catch monsters. In contradictions that do not even crest, hunters wander the wilderness in search of their end.
The hunter walks again because it is not the end until he reaches the end.
Gene knows the power of time better than anyone else in the world. The wavering of the heart is only brief.
‘I’d rather love Chip.’
Numerous taboos have led hunters to this day. Keeping something safe is harder than hunting something. Embracing something other than me is inevitably painful.
After all, hunters don’t live off the books, because they’re people.
He builds up things that he couldn’t keep, and realizes that closing his heart is the only way not to suffer. Therefore, the longer a hunter lives, the harder his heart is like a stone and he does not get wet with anything.
“Hmm….”
Gene looks around and realizes. In front of Gene is a sign of defence.
East, West, South, North.
Camps from the east should walk in either direction: west, south, or north. But Gene couldn’t figure out where to go. You can walk south to reach the end of the Korean Peninsula or retrace your journey to the continent.
‘I should get back.’
There is no reason to stay on the Korean Peninsula. After a long time, the Korean Peninsula was still idle, and it was clear that Gin would find nothing in its idleness.
‘Let’s go to Southern Asia via the continent…. Well, yeah.’
If you extend your lifespan by completing quests along the way, this journey will be over for a year. Since the world would not be destroyed twice anyway, Gene was going to take it easy, even if he didn’t slow down. With more than four hundred days to go, Gene’s death is still far away.
‘It’s been a long time since I’ve been to Ragnarligion.’
Gene moved on diligently. Gene continues to walk thinking carefully about what he will do when he reaches a far away destination.
Gene walked for two days without sleeping. Although there wasn’t much of a reason, Jean continued walking without falling asleep.
“…….”
And Gene only realized that he was in a pretty strange state.
‘…… You’re walking northwest.’
I was focusing on walking to avoid thinking, but I was walking in a different direction, not in the northern direction. Gene walks again, defensively. It wasn’t arrogance that came to mind, but it was because I was trying not to think useless.
It must have been so confusing to have come across human nature in such a long time.
Gene smiled bitterly when he realized that. And I kept feeling anxious on the side of my heart.
‘I think I’m forgetting something….’
I keep thinking I’ve forgotten something very important. But Gene doesn’t remember what he forgot. It has been reminded of Gene’s brain ever since he left Ardpoint.
I feel itchy, but I can’t say for sure where it itches. I keep hearing the idea that I forgot something very important and passed it by. Jin pauses, muttering in an odd voice.
“Dementia…?”
Fear was not really contained in the tone.
