chapter 45
Episode 45
I remembered the nameless seed I had planted in the corner of the dungeon garden.
Hee-won had been watering and tending to it diligently, but there was no sign of it sprouting yet.
“I don’t know,” she said. Maybe you’re not cut out to be a farmer.”
I muttered to myself and stumbled toward Kang jin-hyeon, who was still in his dreamland. His legs wobbled like a newborn baby deer.
“Come on, man, wake up.”
Hee-Na rolled the S-class Hunter onto the ground, wrapped in a sleeping bag, and curled into a crawl. Kang jin-hyeon slept soundly, not even dizzy.
Well, he hadn’t even fluttered an eyelid during the whole fiasco with Captain Mushroom and Hee-Na, so he couldn’t have been awake for this.
“Oh, I have to go find the gate…….”
Hee-na finally gave in to exhaustion and laid down next to Kang jin-hyeon.
The gray sky came into view. She felt a little shivering after sweating, so she snuggled close to the sleeping bag.
“It’s cold.
Still, the cold didn’t go away, so I spread out the SSS-grade newspaper I had picked up earlier and covered it. It might be a matter of mood, but I felt a little warmer with the newspaper.
Of course, this situation of lying on the ground with a newspaper covering was very pathetic, but…….
“I’m tired.
Hee-Na was too tired to think about such things. It was a battle against a boss monster she thought she’d never have to face in her life. It was enough to drain her strength.
It wasn’t long before she heard the sound of snoring coming from under the newspaper. Hee-Na fell into a deep sleep, so deep that she didn’t recognize who was carrying her.
* * *
It felt like someone was beating her all over.
“Uh…… ugh.”
Hee-Na opened her eyes with a terrible muscle ache.
“You’re awake?”
As soon as she lifted her eyelids, she heard a familiar voice. It was Woo Min-ah.
“MinA……, is that you?”
“Yes. It’s me. Are you feeling uncomfortable?”
Woo Min-ah rushed over and examined Hee-na’s complexion.
Hee-na looked up at her with a frown.
“My whole body hurts so much because of muscle pain…….”
“Oh no. I’ve healed the bruises with a potion, but I didn’t think about the muscle pain.”
He quickly popped a small vial into Hee-Na’s mouth. Hee-Na’s eyes widened and she gulped down the liquid from the bottle.
“Yuck!”
At the same time, a tremendous astringency hit the tip of her tongue.
“Yuck, my taste buds are burning!
Woo Min Ah clamped her hand over Hee Na’s mouth as if she had expected such a reaction.
“Swallow, swallow. Don’t spit it out.”
“Oof! Oof! Woof!”
“That’s good, Hee-na. Gulp.”
Hee-na gulped down the unidentified liquid under Woo-min-ah’s enthusiastic cheering.
“Ughhh…….”
Tears prickled at the astringent taste in her mouth. Woo Min-ah popped a lollipop into Hee-na’s mouth after she stuck out her tongue.
“Clean your mouth with candy.”
“What is this?”
Hee-na rubbed the sweet candy on her tongue and asked, “What is this?” “Oh my God, what a horrible taste.
Oh my God, she had never tasted anything so horrible.
“This? Class A recovery potion.”
Wu Min’er said, throwing the torn candy shell on the ground.
She said it so casually that Hee-Na almost didn’t notice it at first, thinking, “Ah, a Class A recovery potion.
After a few seconds, Hee-Na came to her senses, pulled the candy out of her mouth, and scrambled to her feet.
“Wait, wait, sis, a recovery potion? Class A?”
Somehow, the terrible muscle pain suddenly disappeared, and her whole body felt refreshed. She wasn’t mistaken!
Generally speaking, potions, no matter how low-grade they were, were of great value. Potions were especially useful in combat, where you couldn’t rest, as they could instantly increase your magic, stamina, and fatigue.
I’ve heard that a D-ranked potion alone can cost as much as a car, and an A-ranked recovery potion can cost as much as…….
‘I can’t even imagine the price.
Huo Yun’s hands shook as he imagined the billion-sounding sum.
She had momentarily forgotten that she had already spent billions and billions of gems on the generator.
Seeing the pensive look on Hee-na’s face, Woo-min-ah chuckled.
“Hey, I’m not asking you to pay, so don’t give me that look. I’m giving it to you for free.”
Hee-na stuttered at her unexpected kindness.
“What, what. Did I do something wrong? Or do you need something? Do you need an organ donor?”
Wu Min’a was generally kind, but she wasn’t the kind of person who would douse a C-ranked housekeeper in Class A potions just because she had a sore muscle.
And Hee-Na tended to believe that there was no such thing as undeserved kindness for no reason.
Wasn’t there an old saying that one should be grateful for chickens and pigs, but suspicious of beef?
“Eh. You’re quite perceptive.”
What’s more, Wu Min’er sounded scary. My heart sank.
“Mu, what’s going on?”
Just as I was about to say, “No way, you’re not going to change your mind and use me as a smuggling shuttle,” Woo Min-ah spoke up.
“I didn’t do anything wrong, I just need a favor.”
“A favor……?”
“Yes. I think it’s better if you hear the details from someone other than me, otherwise, people are waiting to strangle you. I can see them standing there with their ears perked up to hear our conversation.”
What in the world is he asking me to do, start a conversation with him after slugging him with a Class A potion?
Woo Min ah frowned at HeeNa’s dumbfounded expression.
“You’re busy, aren’t you? I fell asleep in the dungeon with a newspaper over my head, and the moment I woke up, I was poisoned with an A-grade potion and a favor…….”
Only then did Hee-Na realize something was wrong.
“What? I was in a dungeon?”
The last thing she remembered was falling asleep on an SSS-grade newspaper. At Hee-na’s questioning look, Woo Min-ah explained.
“When the gate opened, you didn’t come out for a long time, so we organized a search party, just in case, and guess what we found?”
“What, what?”
“You and Kang jin-hyeon sleeping soundly. But he was sleeping in a sleeping bag, and you were sleeping on a newspaper. You’re an asshole with no manners.”
“Ha……. Haha.”
I didn’t know if I should be embarrassed that they found me homeless or thank them for finding me. I couldn’t help but laugh in embarrassment.
Woo Min-ah threw something at the laughing Hee-na. It was a stack of newspapers.
“Take this first. I was going to throw away the newspaper I was covering, but this is also an item. C-grade newspaper? It’s unusual. You were covering it, so it’s yours, right?”
“Ah. That’s right.”
Hee-na took the newspaper and examined it. It was folded very neatly, without any dirt or wrinkles.
*Additional feature: This item can be hidden depending on the user’s situation. (Currently in use)>
Knowing that newspaper maps are embarrassing, I hid the SSS title that didn’t fit the fountain and put a C-grade title on it.
It says that it can hide its rank depending on the situation, and this seems to be exactly what it does.
Hee-na shoved the disguised newspaper into her inventory.
Woo Min-ah looked at her and asked.
“Other than the sore muscles, are you feeling any discomfort?”
Hee-na checked Hudadak’s condition, and he was fine.
His body, which had been covered in dirt from rolling around in the dungeon, had been cleaned and dressed in comfortable clothes, and his injuries from the fall had healed.
“You’re not even scarred from the fall?”
I muttered, looking down at my shriveled palms, and the answer came.
“I told you, I potioned it while you were sleeping.”
“Hmph.”
“You also have a bit of housewife’s eczema, which I also cured.”
“Hehe! I cured my housewife’s eczema with a potion…….”
Another potion. Hee-na’s small-town soul grabbed the back of her neck and collapsed.
Woo Min-ah giggled and patted Hee-na on the shoulder.
“I’m not asking you to pay for it. Can you make that face? It’s so funny, it makes me want to file a claim.”
Hee-Na shuddered at the terrifying joke. This couldn’t be happening.
“I’m kidding, I’m kidding. What’s a few bottles of Iced Potion to the man who saved your life?”
“How did you know that?”
“Since there was no one else in the dungeon but the two of you, and since Kang jin-hyeon doesn’t remember killing the boss monster, you’re the only one who can kill it.”
Woo Min Ah wanted to know how Hee Na, whose stats were abysmal for a non-combatant, managed to defeat the boss monster. Her eyes sparkled with interest.
But Hee-na had other things on her mind.
“Hunter Kang jin-hyeon, are you awake?”
No matter how much I rolled, shook, or even hit him, he finally woke up.
I was relieved to see him awake, and my stomach churned at the thought of all the trouble I’d been through.
“I see. You seem to have a lot to tell me. I’m sure you have a lot of questions, too, so let’s talk about it where we’re all together.”
