Hokage: Immortal, I Open Unlimited Eight Gates

Chapter 9: Weird Fugaku

Seeing this scene, Uchiha Fugaku's heart began to race, and cold sweat beaded on his forehead.

If I had been hit just now, would I have been able to survive it?

Quickly snapping out of his thoughts, he focused on the surroundings.

After the Shadow Clone was destroyed, Uchiha Fugaku didn't face immediate danger. Instead, the loud roars caused by Uchiha Chiba's movements began to increase the pressure he felt.

Looking around, all he saw was dust swirling in the air—there was no sign of Uchiha Chiba.

Realizing he had no choice, Uchiha Fugaku activated his Sharingan to track Chiba's movements.

Three magatama?

As soon as Uchiha Fugaku opened his eyes, Uchiha Chiba noticed.

Unlike the two magatama from before, Uchiha Fugaku now had a three-magatama Sharingan.

Once activated, the Sharingan allowed Fugaku to catch sight of Uchiha Chiba, though only as a vague shadow. It was a slight improvement, but not enough to make him fully comfortable.

No longer hesitating, Fugaku quickly formed a hand seal.

"Darkness Technique."

Since ninjutsu had failed, Fugaku turned to Genjutsu, hoping it might work.

However, after opening the Fourth Gate of the Eight Inner Gates , Uchiha Chiba's chakra was boiling and his mental state was heightened. Ordinary Genjutsu couldn't affect him.

Despite his high-speed movements, Chiba had been keeping track of Fugaku's every action. The moment the Genjutsu was cast, Chiba knew Fugaku was running out of tricks.

Without a second thought, Chiba appeared behind Fugaku. As he clenched his fist to strike, he heard Fugaku call out.

"Wait."

Chiba stopped, turning to face Fugaku. "Brother Fugaku, what's wrong?"

"Okay, you win. That's enough for today."

Fugaku, his forehead still slick with sweat, sighed in relief.

Chiba nodded, closing the Fourth Gate of the Eight Inner Gates.

Looking at Fugaku, who was four years younger than him, Uchiha Chiba couldn't help but think.

The waves behind the Yangtze River push the waves ahead. I thought I could still hold my ground against him, but now, I've been completely overwhelmed.

Uchiha Fugaku sighed. "Chiba, I didn't expect that after such a long time, you've grown so powerful."

Uchiha Chiba was modest in response. "It's nothing, your physical skills are amazing, Fugaku-san. I also envy you for activating your Three Magatama Sharingan at such a young age. By the way, when did you unlock it?"

As soon as Chiba asked about the Sharingan, Fugaku's expression instantly darkened.

"Just two days ago."

Chiba raised an eyebrow. Could it be that someone in the family died?

In the Uchiha clan, the bond of love was deeply felt. When that love was lost, it caused intense grief, triggering a special chakra that activated the Sharingan.

Chiba, not knowing who had passed away, still offered his condolences. "I'm sorry for your loss, brother Fugaku."

"It's alright," Fugaku said, wiping his forehead. "I've avenged Qiqi."

"Qiqi?" Chiba was puzzled. "Brother Fugaku, are you sure it's Qiqi?"

Fugaku looked at him, confused. "Yes, what's the problem?"

Chiba stared at Fugaku with an incredulous expression. "So, you're telling me you unlocked your Three Magatama Sharingan because of your pet cat Qiqi?"

"Yes."

Chiba stood speechless, his mind reeling. Only in the Uchiha clan…

Compared to someone like Qingtianzhu, who only unlocked a magatama out of anger after losing his entire family, Fugaku's situation seemed oddly unique—but at least he was talented.

Deciding not to probe further into the death of the cat, Chiba nodded politely and said, "Sorry to hear about your cat, Fugaku-san."

After the awkward conversation about the cat, Uchiha Chiba had no interest in continuing his training. He looked up at the sky and said, "It's getting late. I'll head home now. Goodbye, brother Fugaku."

"Alright, take care," Fugaku replied.

Later that evening, Uchiha Chiba returned home to find his mother still awake.

"I'm back," he said, greeting her before heading to the bathroom.

After a quick shower, he returned to his room, sat cross-legged, and began meditating.

The next day.

It was Saturday, and Uchiha Chiba headed to Mikoto's house after seeing his mother, Uchiha Genka, off.

As he passed by the training ground, he noticed several Uchiha clan members already hard at work, practicing early in the morning.

Tsk, tsk, it's really relentless.

Chiba understood; ninjas lived dangerous lives. To survive, they needed to constantly improve their strength.

Shaking his head, he continued on his way.

When he arrived at Mikoto's house, he saw an elderly man dressed in a black samurai uniform, sitting in the yard drinking tea.

"Grandpa, still drinking tea early in the morning, huh?" Chiba said with a smile.

"Ah, Chiba, have you eaten yet?" Uchiha Inada, his grandfather, looked up with a smile.

Uchiha Inada was proud of his grandson, even though he had a rivalry with Uchiha Setsuna, the leader of the hawk faction. Chiba's occasional visits were always appreciated, though Inada grumbled whenever his grandson came seeking Mikoto.

"I've eaten," Chiba replied. "By the way, where's Mikoto-san?"

Inada's face shifted slightly. "Looking for Mikoto, huh? I thought you came to see me?"

Chiba smiled and nodded. "Well, I'm actually here to see Mikoto."

"Typical," Inada muttered. "She's inside, go on."

Chiba didn't think much of it and entered the house, only to be greeted by Mikoto as she came out.

"Chiba, what brings you here today?"

Without wasting time, Chiba explained, "I'm going on a picnic with Shikaku and the others today. Want to join us?"

Mikoto's face flushed with hesitation. She wanted to join but had made prior plans with Kushina.

After a pause, she said, "I'd love to, but I promised Kushina we'd go shopping together."

Chiba smiled. "No problem, Mikoto-san. Maybe next time."
