Chapter 12: ch12
"You will follow me from today on. You don't have to go to class." Principal Lee Stone's voice was steady. John Smith was stunned after hearing this.
Does he want to take me on as his apprentice?
John knew very well that if he followed the normal process, he would still have about ten days to graduate and then wait until September 1, more than two months later, to report to the university.
Now that the principal said this, doesn't it mean that he has skipped the process and become his private student?
Isn't this just like being an apprentice to a master?
Seeing John in a daze, Principal Stone explained: "Not only you, Ashley Thompson and Ethan Johnson, you two also will follow me."
"Uh, Principal, what do you want to do? I don't want to be trained," Ashley said playfully, sticking out her tongue, while Ethan quickly nodded in agreement and nudged John to agree quickly.
"Brother, please agree. This is a rare opportunity. The principal probably wants the three of us to shine in front of other cities."
"I follow the principal's orders."
Although he didn't know Principal Stone's plan, John was not a fool. This was an experienced Elite Chunin. He could be found by many people just with a point of his finger.
Principal Stone glared and scolded Ashley. "You little troublemaker. Your father was also taught by me back then. Follow me for these two months, and I guarantee you will benefit greatly."
"Yes, I didn't say I wouldn't agree." Ashley reluctantly agreed, and Principal Stone left with satisfaction.
"Meet me at the playground after nine o'clock. Remember not to be late."
"Yes, Principal."
After Principal Stone left, Mr. Carter and the other students dared to speak. Everyone envied the three of them before starting class.
More than two hours passed quickly, and the three of them were waiting on the playground around 8:50.
"What do you think the principal wants to do?" John had no background and no ability to check many things online, so he could only ask his two friends with extraordinary status.
Ashley said with a hint of frustration, "What else could it be? Intense training. The old man has only been in the school for a few years and definitely wants to train a few more peerless geniuses to make a name."
"Almost, but Ashley, you shouldn't talk about the principal that way. He's focused on students for years and is a true educator," Ethan spoke up for Principal Stone. John had heard this before, otherwise, West Valley High School would not have become the best school in West Valley District.
Of course, the prestige of this is relatively low. West Valley District is a small county under Anyuan City, with a population of just 100,000, and it rarely produces a genius.
And Anyuan City is a small city in the southern continent, with a permanent population of about 15 million, which is inconspicuous compared to the population of more than 4 billion on the entire continent.
According to historical records, John learned that the population of the former Sacred Tree Continent was more than 20 billion, and its area was twice the size of Earth in his previous life.
It had experienced the catastrophe of monsters and beasts before it could survive, and it had just recovered some vitality in the past hundred years.
Principal Stone did not keep the three of them waiting and quickly arrived at the playground.
"Listen, Ancheng University is your goal. I will never allow you to apply for other second-rate universities. I think you three have no objection to this."
"No objection," the three shook their heads. Ancheng University was, of course, the first target, and no student would refuse it.
Principal Stone glanced at Ashley and Ethan. "It's not difficult for you two to enter Ancheng University. What's difficult is how to stand out in it. That's why I'm giving you intensive training."
"And John...you have talent, but your starting point is too low. You have more tasks than the two of them in these two months, and you must at least reach their current Chakra level."
"You mean I'm going to become a ninja in two months?"
After hearing this, John couldn't help but ask, "Principal, I am very slow in refining Chakra. I'm afraid..."
"I understand that you alone can't do it," Principal Stone interrupted him and took out a maroon fruit from his pocket, the size of a baby's fist, and tossed it to John.
"Eat it."
"Okay." John didn't ask what it was and ate it in two bites without hesitation. The principal had no intention of harming him at all.
When the fruit entered his stomach, it was sweet and sour, and tasted a bit like an apple. John felt warm in his stomach, and the Chakra in his meridians flowed much faster.
"Huh? What are you..." After tasting the mysterious fruit, he realized that Ashley and Ethan were looking at him with envious eyes, almost drooling.
Ethan patted his shoulder and said, "Boy, you are on your way up. I'm afraid it won't be long before your Chakra capacity catches up with mine."
"You mean the fruit just now?"
"Yes." Ethan glanced at Principal Stone, who nodded slightly to him, seeming to signal him to tell John.
"It's called the Life Force Fruit, or Life Fruit for short. It can quickly improve a ninja's physical fitness in a short period, thus speeding up Chakra refining."
"This thing is great, but the price is ridiculous. My dad only gave me one for my birthday this year."
Life Fruit?
After hearing this, John asked in a deep voice, "Then how much is it worth?"
"At least two million, and it's often not available," Ashley said, sharing a number that shocked him. After a moment, John bowed respectfully to Principal Stone.
"Thank you, Principal. I will never forget your kindness today."
"Stop talking nonsense," Principal Stone waved his hand. "As long as you are a student of West Valley High School, as long as you are talented, I will treat you equally. I am not giving you any special treatment."
"If you insist on repaying me, then work hard to become strong and make our school famous on the mainland. This would be the best reward for me."
"Yes, Principal!" John was very moved. This is a principal who truly asks for nothing in return and gives everything to his students.
Next, Principal Stone asked the three of them to demonstrate their Ninjutsu, and after thinking for a moment, he formulated a training plan for them.
"From now on, practice Ninjutsu during the day and refine Chakra at night."
"Ashley, I want you to master Gentle Fist thoroughly within a week, and your Chakra amount should reach two cards."
"Ethan, in addition to Chakra, you also need to master Ninjutsu. You can go home and have your father teach you, or you can ask me to learn it."
"As for John, which attribute do you want to cultivate first?"
"Lightning!" John said without thinking. The hit rate of the fire attribute was so impressive. If he had to choose, it would be the lightning attribute.
Principal Stone nodded and took out three more scrolls from his pocket.
"I knew you would choose this way. Mr. Carter told me that your theoretical knowledge is sometimes more solid than his."
"Choose one, but remember, don't bite off more than you can chew."
The three Ninjutsu scrolls all looked the same, more than a foot long, all black and red, with names and introductions marked on them.
[Lightning Style: Thunderball - Level C, summons several thunderballs to attack the enemy. It consumes very little but lacks power.]
[Lightning Style: Earth Walking - Level C, releases lightning with both hands that spreads on earth or water. It is more powerful when used with Water Style. It is not weaker than B-level Ninjutsu in favorable terrain. The disadvantage is that its regular power is weaker than other Lightning Styles of the same level.]
[Lightning Style: Razer - Level C, transforms the lightning form into a snake shape to attack the enemy. The advantage is that it is extremely fast. The disadvantage is that the number and power of the Razer are related to the strength of the caster.]
"They are all C-level Ninjutsu... The principal is really generous," John thought to himself after seeing them, and chose Lightning Style: Earth Walking without hesitation.
The other two Ninjutsu are not bad, but he values the potential of Earth Walking more. As the introduction says, it will have miraculous effects when used properly.
