HEARTS OF DIVINE RUIN (The MoonGoddess and The AlphaKing)

Chapter 69: Chapter 67 : Breathless

"I will stop, If you want me to stop " he murmured, his voice thick and broken.
She couldn't speak. Her breath hitched as his hand moved again, skimming her side, his touch burning through every layer of her defenses. Instead of answering, she reached for him—her own hands wandering up his chest, fingertips brushing the muscles hidden beneath his damp shirt.
Alex's breath caught. A muscle in his jaw ticked as her hands explored him, tentative yet curious, mirroring the path his had taken.
The moment seemed to shift, the tension between them deepening into something darker, more consuming.
His mouth descended on her neck, pressing hot, open-mouthed kisses along the sensitive skin. Luna arched slightly, her eyes fluttering shut as a low hum escaped her lips. Her body responded to him, every touch, every kiss sending sparks racing across her skin.
His hand gripped her waist firmly, pulling her closer, as though he couldn't stand the distance between them. The other skimmed upward, fingers brushing over the curve of her ribs before grazing the underside of her chest.
Luna's hands slid around his shoulders, nails biting gently into his skin through the fabric of his shirt. She let out a shaky breath, her head tilting back as he continued his slow, torturous exploration of her neck and collarbone.
"Alex," she murmured, barely recognizing her own voice—soft, breathless, and uncertain.
He paused only for a moment, his forehead resting against hers as he breathed her in. "Say my name again," he whispered, his voice rough, low, and desperate.
Luna opened her mouth, about to speak, but before she could, a voice from behind the door cut through the tension.
"Alex!" . It was charlie .
Alex groaned inwardly, irritation flashing across his features. He didn't stop kissing her, though—his lips moving against hers once more with an intensity that made Luna's head spin.
His lips were on hers again—this time softer, slower, but no less consuming. The heat between them intensified, a fire that neither of them seemed capable of extinguishing. His hands roamed her body with an unrestrained hunger—tracing the curve of her hip, sliding along her thigh before rising again. Each touch ignited trails of heat, leaving her skin burning beneath his fingers.
Luna, unable to stop herself, mirrored his movements. Her hands dipped lower, tracing the hard lines of his abdomen, feeling the way his muscles tensed beneath her touch but she stopped softly at the hem of his shorts as she suddenly realised what she was doing.
Alex groaned softly, his forehead resting against Luna's as his lips ghosted over hers. The knock on the door—and Charlie's insistent voice—only added to his frustration.
"Alex, you in there?" Charlie called out again.
Alex clenched his jaw, exhaling sharply. "I'll be down in five minutes," he called back, his tone clipped and impatient.
Satisfied for the moment, Charlie's retreating footsteps faded. Alex let out a quiet sigh and turned his attention back to Luna, who was staring up at him, her cheeks flushed, her breath uneven. A sly smirk spread across his face, the fire in his gaze unmistakable.
"I like how this feels," he murmured, his voice low and rough, dripping with seduction. His fingers slid down her side, lingering on the curve of her hip as his eyes roamed over her face. "But you know what's driving me crazy?"
Luna's lips parted, her breath hitching, but she didn't respond. She couldn't. Her mind was still reeling from his closeness, the heat radiating between them.
"I'm jealous," Alex continued, his voice dropping to a sinful whisper. "Jealous of the Alex in my dreams—the one who got to have you first." He shifted slightly, leaning down until his lips were by her ear, his breath warm and teasing. "So maybe next time... we try something else. Something bold. Something he never felt."
Before she could respond, he grabbed both of her wrists in one hand and gently pinned them above her head, his strength and control leaving her breathless. His other hand traced a deliberate path from her collarbone, over her shoulder, and down her arm, sending shivers through her. He didn't kiss her again, but the intimacy of his touch, the way his fingers lingered at the pulse point of her neck, made her heart race.
Alex leaned in, his lips brushing the shell of her ear. "You make it so hard to leave," he whispered, his tone laced with mischief and heat. Then, his teeth grazed her earlobe, a barely-there bite that sent a jolt of electricity through her.
Luna's eyes fluttered shut as a wave of heat swept over her. Her body was frozen, caught between wanting to pull him closer and the overwhelming intensity of the moment. But just as she was about to say something—anything—he pulled back.
Alex stood, his movements deliberate, leaving her wrists free as he straightened. He glanced down at her, a smug smile tugging at his lips as he took in her dazed expression.
"You should see your face right now," he teased, his voice low but filled with satisfaction. "Absolutely stunning."
Luna blinked, struggling to process what had just happened. Her cheeks burned as she quickly sat up, pulling the blanket around her as if to shield herself from the moment. She didnt know this side of Alex existed - How can someone be jealous of themselves she wondered.
Alex chuckled, running a hand through his hair.
"Don't even think about running off," he warned, voice hoarse, though there was something else in his gaze—a touch of desperation. Then he turned toward the door, pausing just long enough to look back over his shoulder. "We're not done."
And with that, he walked out, leaving Luna sitting there—flustered, shy, and completely caught off guard by how quickly the last few minutes had turned her world upside down.
