"Merpeople?" Patrick looked at the photo Murphy handed over, glanced at the ugly corpse on it, and frowned, "Was this thing the killer?"

Recently, several coastal cities in Britain had experienced vicious murder cases where Muggles were gutted, dying in extremely gruesome ways, causing great panic in society. Therefore, as the president, Patrick was also aware of this issue.

Murphy then handed a few more photos to Patrick.

The first photo showed a beach with a giant tree of light several dozen meters tall, with people kneeling and praying around it.

The second photo depicted the sky where clouds formed a giant eye overlooking the earth.

The third photo showed sea fish forming a giant cross several hundred meters long.

"Their power is still weak, so they can only create these illusion-like 'miracles' to attract Muggles' attention. But as the resurgence of magical power accelerates, they will have more and more methods at their disposal. I've heard that the frequency of believers from various religious sects claiming to have seen gods in their dreams has increased dozens of times over the past."

"What can I do about this?" Patrick asked.

There are old ties with Russia, and if they have to choose between us and the Beautiful Country, I believe they'd be more willing to stand with us. Of course, knowing their way of doing things, they'd probably take advantage of both sides."

"You're familiar with them?" Patrick asked.

"Somewhat," Murphy smiled. "Moreover, cooperating with them has another crucial reason."

"The influence of deities on the secular world largely manifests through faith. And that nation is even more thoroughly atheistic than Russia."

Patrick nodded, "I understand, I'll give it a try."

After discussing this, Patrick remembered another matter, "We've caught quite a few spies from the Beautiful Country recently, and others from different countries too. They're all here for the umbrella and other magical technologies. Regarding the resurgence of magic, they must have some guesses."

Murphy nodded, "Everyone's not foolish; this matter can't be kept secret forever. Our secrecy policy can only delay the full revelation of the truth. But for now, their stance should be similar to ours, to gain more advantages; they'd likely keep this matter within a small circle rather than fully disclose it."

"I suspect the resurgence of magic will eventually become a tacitly agreed secret among the major powers."

"Can this process really not be stopped?" Patrick asked.

"Unless I can find the method used to seal the deities before, it might serve as a reference to drive them away again," Murphy said. "But for now, there's no clue. And as more people become aware of the existence of magic, the possibility of stopping the resurgence diminishes."

"All we can do now is prepare for the response."

"For the Muggle society, you don't need me to remind you too much. The Augus plan and the nationalization of the economy help stabilize society during this extraordinary period and are beneficial for the future. We must persevere."

"We also need to start focusing on ideology. I heard the Beautiful Country's people are already discrediting the research on void particles. Even the enemy recognizes the importance of the battle for public opinion; how can we not be prepared?"

"However, our propaganda should still focus on materialism and rationality. Humanity's thought might be our ultimate battleground. Though it's difficult to reverse people's faith immediately, at least we should let them know there's another voice."
