Chapter 4: Chapter 4: Regarding weapons
Starting the Human Order Restoration RTA when I head to the shrine and get hit with stones!
We're finally less than a week away from entering Chaldea.
Thanks to all the training, Homo-kun Displacement Magecraft has successfully mutated into Displacement Sorcery, and the leftover points have been allocated to various other skills, so the build is complete.
But seriously, what's up with that shrine? I got hit by pieces of stone three times. What did Homo-kun even do? Well, at least I was able to acquire divinity, so it's all good!
Now, regarding this mutation, there's a proper reason why the Magecraft turned into Sorcery.
This involves a bit of a talk about sorcery. Magecraft is a "program that rearranges what's already there," while *Sorcery* is a "program that rearranges one's own body as the material," and it's considered a physical phenomenon that's performed using one's body. This is what's known as the Dakini-ten method.
Here, I want you to remember the Physical Displacement and Soul Displacement that Homo-kun deals with. Both are magic that use his own body, which is why they mutate into curses.
And this is exactly the reason why there is no countermeasure against Tamamo-no-Mae. Even if they mutate into curses, there is no way to win against Tamamo-no-Mae, who possesses top-class curse magic EX.
That's why it's better not to form a contract. If you use curse magic, it will easily be seen through. Well, it's fine if she comes as a Lancer or Berserker, but if she comes as a Caster, it's impossible... yeah, barely okay, probably.
Well, I've been downplaying Tamamo-no-Mae quite a bit, but if you think about it normally, she is actually a good pick. Especially since she fights alongside multiple Servants, Tamamo-no-Mae's Noble Phantasm is extremely effective. With her infinite magic supply, she has a cheat-like performance, but even then, it's said she's only able to release a small fraction of her true Noble Phantasm.
Now, let's leave that aside and talk about the current goal. Since it's less than a week until entering Chaldea, it's time to get a weapon. Considering what's coming up, it's better to have a weapon, so I need to purchase one.
What I recommend here is a gun.
The reason is that in Servant battles, it can at least serve as a means of deterrence. Servant battles are fundamentally fought at supersonic speeds. Because of this, using melee weapons would require accepting a high risk of self-destruction. That's why guns, which are ranged weapons capable of supersonic attacks, come highly recommended.
Of course, for Servants who can move at supersonic speeds, guns won't pose much of a threat. Still, it's better than having nothing. By the way, unless you properly enchant the weapon, it will just turn into useless junk. After all, normal physical attacks don't work on Servants.
As for funding, the funding comes from the thugs around here—*ahem*, contributions from the kind hearted individuals around here—with what I already had, I should have enough to buy a gun and maybe something extra, depending on the price. Since all of this will become useless in a week anyway, let's just splurge on it.
Now, you might want to say, "There's no way you can buy a gun in Japan!" But for some reason, there's someone selling them in the back alleys. Apparently, there's a good weapons dealer around here. So let's head there tonight!
(> As night fell, you entered the back alleys of the bustling entertainment district.)
(> Unlike the bright and lively streets above, the alley was shrouded in deep darkness, so much so that it felt as if you couldn't see an inch ahead. )
(> After walking along the path for a while, you saw a figure standing still, wearing a hooded black robe.)
(> …There was an eerie atmosphere about them.)
Oh, it's open.
There they are. As expected. It's *that guy*. A mysterious character who, for some reason, sells all sorts of weapons. Incidentally, they only appear during this period—one month before entering Chaldea. After that, they completely vanish.
"..."
(> As you approached, the figure silently began displaying weapons.)
Oh, an MP5 submachine gun? Nice, not bad at all! Submachine guns are highly practical—easy to carry, capable of rapid fire, and even if your shooting skills aren't great, you can still hit something. It's that "fire enough bullets and one's bound to land" logic.
This is great! I like it. How much is it?
"140,000."
140,000?! (*shock*) You're kidding, right?!
What a bargain, though… Normally, this would cost more than double that price. Maybe it's on sale or something? Either way, let's buy it. I'll also purchase some ammo—9mm Parabellum rounds. The bullet speed is slower, but they're dirt cheap, and since my plan is to spray and pray, it's no big deal.
(> You obtained an MP5.)
(> You obtained 9mm Parabellum Rounds ×200.)
As for how to resupply ammunition after the incineration of humanity? Just hand the bullets over to Da Vinci-chan, and she'll replicate them for you. Truly a genius of all trades! Later on, you'll even be able to add special effects to the bullets, but I'll talk about that another time.
("This is a bonus. Take this as well.")
Huh?
(> You obtained an old knife emitting a mysterious light.)
Looks like I got a bonus. Hmm... an old knife, huh? Honestly, it's trash. I don't need it. Its stats are low. But, hey, free stuff is free stuff, so I'll take it anyway.
Thanks a lot!
Alright, now that I've bought what I needed, let's head back. I'll save the leftover money for when I'm building a connection with Ritsuka-chan. Well then, I'll take my stuff and be on my way.
"…Thanks for your business."

Now, let's get right into modifying it. I'll quickly disassemble it and apply a reinforcement spell. This will reduce the recoil, and if I strengthen myself as well, I'll even be able to fire it one-handed.
As long as you've applied the spell seal it'll only take one step of channeling mana to activate it, so it's definitely worth doing.
Now, things get tricky. Next, I'll inscribe the Displacement mana seal on each 9mm Parabellum round I just bought.
By doing this, I can perform a Displacement when I fire a round, enabling high-speed movement. However, be careful of walls! If you perform the Displacement in the wrong place, you might get stuck or crash into something, taking massive damage.
I can't even count how many of those poor souls of Homo-kun have been sacrificed in the name of testing this…
While I'm at it, I'll also organize my inventory. I'll sort through what I need and what I don't, quickly tossing out the useless items to clear up space and expand my item slots.
The first thing I'm throwing out is these three shards of stone. They take up three slots, and honestly, they don't seem useful at all, so it's time to ditch them.
(>You threw away three pieces of something that resembled fragments of stone.)
(>Too bad! You have been cursed!)
Huh?
(>The pieces of something that resembled fragments of stone have returned to your inventory.)
(>The pieces of stone have merged into one stone.)
(>You have obtained a cursed stone.)
What is this item!? (astonishment)
Wait, what does a curse even mean? Do I take damage every turn? Let me check the stats of Homo-kun for a bit.
Hmm…? It doesn't look like there's any abnormal status condition. It also doesn't seem like my HP has decreased in any noticeable way. So then, what is this curse?
Huh? There's a skill in the skill list that I've never seen before. What's this, "■■'s Blessing"? I can't read part of it because it's been blacked out. Let's check it out.
Hmm (checking strategy wiki)
Hmm? (second check)
(It's) not written.
Eh... (confusion)
What about the stone?
...It seems it's no good (resignation).
Isn't that strange...? Except for the beginning, everything was going smoothly. Well, I guess it'll be fine! It's not like it's receiving any negative corrections, and it doesn't seem to be related to the strategy, so it won't affect the chart. Also, maybe you can run your own route, so it's worth doing.
But let's try discarding the stone one more time. Since it changed into a different item, there's a slim chance it can be discarded.
(>You cannot throw that away!)
Guess not…
It seems like it's completely impossible to throw it away now. Well, this level of issue doesn't really count as a major flaw, so it's not a problem. Since I can't discard it, there's no helping it, so let's organize the other items.
That's all for today. Thank you for *watching.
