Chapter 16: Future Domain Construction Plans
Chapter 16: Future Domain Construction Plans
“Sir Thor Dresrosa, your registration is complete. For the next twenty years, as long as you are here, the Maine River Valley will be your domain. After twenty years, the kingdom will review your domain. If it meets the standards, you will be granted a title. Of course, you may apply for it earlier if you meet the requirements!”
The golden-haired girl respectfully handed over a parchment scroll.
As the initial choice of land for Pioneering knights, the process was straightforward, and this parchment served as the contract.
“Thank you!”
Thor expressed his gratitude and took the scroll.
The Maine River Valley was the result of his careful selection through Daily Information reports.
On one hand, the Maine River Valley is sufficiently large. Although there are three noble lords and a dozen pioneering lords to the left, the area extending north is quite open. The river's impact has created a vast bay with flat terrain and good soil, ideal for large-scale agriculture. The only issue is the risk of flooding, but this is not a problem for Thor, who has experience dealing with such challenges.
Moreover, another key reason for choosing this location was the presence of the starfruit and, in the eastern goblin tribe, a rich iron mine.
The starfruit was valuable, and an iron mine would entice even a count, let alone him.
Under these conditions, his choice was clear.
“You flatter me!”
“We look forward to your return!”
The golden-haired girl quickly responded.
Thor nodded with a smile.
He then left the municipal center with Ryan and Steve.
On the way, many knights saluted Thor again.
Thor returned their salutes.
Leaving the municipal center, they soon arrived at their knights' quarters.
“Sir!”
“Sir!”
Upon Thor’s return, the knights quickly saluted.
Thor waved in acknowledgment.
They then entered the camp.
The knights began preparing meals.
As Thor ate his first meal in Loren City, he fell into deep thought.
With the Pioneering knight registration complete, he was now officially recognized as a Pioneering knight by the kingdom's laws. For the next twenty years, he would enjoy certain noble privileges.
If he could develop the domain within twenty years and pass the kingdom's review, he would become a true baron of the kingdom.
This also meant that his tenure as a lord was imminent.
How to develop his domain was a matter he needed to consider for a long time.
He had already made many preparations in Dresrosa Castle.
However, upon reaching this point, he was preparing to reassess everything.
He also planned to stay in Loren City for a day to see if the Daily Information system could offer any more surprises.
As night fell, Loren City did not have suitable accommodations for them.
However, with a certain amount of gold, it could be arranged.
Especially since Thor was a member of the Dresrosa family, it was even easier.
But the environment was still far from the Dresrosa Castle.
Nevertheless, it was much better than being in the wild.
Time passed slowly.
Soon, it was midnight.
With a hint of anticipation, Thor waited for the Daily Information system to update.
“Buzz!”
[Daily Information Updated]
1: A group of earth dragons will pass by 150 miles ahead.
2: In three days,
3: Tomorrow,
4: One day from now, a celestial dragon has left its nest 1,000 miles to the right. It cannot return, and its collection of treasures and a dragon egg are with it.
5: 1,000 miles from Loren City, on the western side of the Maine River Valley, there is a large iron mine guarded by goblins.
6: Tomorrow, a group of unicorns will pass by the Rhine River and stay for three hours.
7: In two days, in Loren City’s slave market, there will be a group of slaves for sale. The third female slave in the third batch is a half-elf girl with rare mage talent and high potential.
Thor's eyes lit up as he read the seventh entry.
He was genuinely surprised.
It wasn’t the half-elf aspect.
For some nobles, a half-elf girl could be a significant allure, but for Thor, it was not the main concern.
What thrilled him was the rare mage talent of this half-elf girl.
In the kingdom, and indeed across the continent, knights were the mainstream, but this did not mean that other forms of cultivation were non-existent. Witches and mages were also forms of cultivation.
They represented extraordinary power.
However, compared to knights, mages and witches were exceedingly rare.
In the kingdom, mages were almost unseen.
Yet every mage was an extremely valuable resource for nobles and the kingdom, as only mages could craft magic and life potions.
Given this context, mages were very precious.
Thor never expected to encounter such a high-talent mage in Loren City.
This was truly a pleasant surprise.
If he could acquire this half-elf girl, his future development would be hard to imagine.
A mage is a mage.
The mere thought of having a mage in his domain made Thor excited.
“Two days?”
He murmured and then made his decision.
With two days to spare, he could easily reach his domain a bit later.
No need to rush.
With the decision made, Thor prepared to wait in Loren City.
Two days passed quickly.
Thor also took the opportunity to experience life in Loren City. To be honest, Loren City was indeed far inferior to Frostmoon Province.
This was not just in the demeanor of the free people, but also in the living conditions.
It was evident that Loren City did not have an abundance of resources. After twenty years of development, it was clear that the marquis here might not have invested much effort.
But this was understandable.
A marquis sent to such a place would likely not be very motivated.
