NOVEL WEB Volume 1 Chapter 86 - Maybe it's Eleanor's fault
After finishing my experiments on the Strengthening Potion (Defense), I finally had a day off. I went shopping, lazed around at home, and the following day was spent back in the lab conducting more experiments.
Among the many things I tried was mixing a Level 1 Healing Potion with a Level 2 Healing Potion. Kaede-chan teased me that night, but hey, it’s all for the sake of advancing alchemy.
Unfortunately, no significant results came about. Mixing different levels of Healing Potions just reverted them to Level 1. Mixing a TS Potion with an Invisibility Potion turned it back into water.
Friday came around, and it was time for a new adventure with Yoshino-san and Rin-san. Kaede-chan woke me up, and after getting ready, I took a taxi to the guild.
I parted ways with Kaede-chan at the guild and changed in the locker room. As expected, no other adventurers were around on a weekday morning.
Once dressed, I found Kaede-chan waiting for me at the reception desk.
“Long time no see.”
“Indeed,” she greeted me with a cute smile.
“We’re meeting at 5 PM, right? Let’s go home together.”
“Sounds good. I’m planning to make hot pot tonight. I’m pretty good at it.”
“As it’s getting colder, that sounds perfect.”
“Is the Mireiyu Highway okay for you?”
“Yeah, I’m going with Yoshino-san and Rin-san.”
She handed me my sword and status card with a big smile.

“How do I do that?”

I stashed my status card, grabbed my sword, and waved to Kaede-chan as I headed for the gate. Focusing on the Mireiyu Highway, I passed through.
The landscape that met me was a serene mix of grass, rivers, and trees. A stone path stretched ahead, beckoning me forward. I waited for a bit until Rin-san appeared through the gate. Yoshino-san was still nowhere to be seen.
“Good morning!”
“Morning! Please take care of me today.”
“You’re still doing that?”
“I got warned about showing off. Also, my new status card shows that I’ve acquired the Taunt skill.”
“If you say so. Let me know if I start to show off. I don’t want Kaede-chan to hate me.”
“Don’t worry about it. And you’re not showing off to Kaede, right?”
“True that.”
“So, it’s fine. By the way, congrats on reaching D-rank.”
“Thanks. Where’s Yoshino-san?”
“She’ll be here soon. Takes her a while to get ready.”
I chatted more with Rin-san about swords and the cost of equipment until finally, Yoshino-san appeared.
“There she is.”
“Finally…”
“Sorry I’m late.”
“No problem. We were talking about my Taunt skill and how it’s my latest acquisition.”
“Really? What’s your Swordsmanship at? Level 6?”
“Yeah.”
“Nice. We were also discussing the cost and features of swords.”
“Mine extends up to 2 or 3 meters.”
“That’s amazing!”
“Right? So, shall we go?”
