Chapter 30: Immortal Lust
The massive wooden gates gates creaked as they lifted, the ground trembling beneath the immense weight of a towering, three-meter quadrupedal beast that slowly emerged from the shadows. The creature dragging its own heavy vornumian chains, their metallic surface glinting with a faint blue hue as the sunlight struck it.
The beast let out a guttural roar that shook the entire arena, its deafening sound reverberating through the air. Two massive tusks jutted from either side of its gaping maw, and when it roared, it revealed rows upon rows of razor-sharp teeth, capable of shredding concrete like paper.
Its deep orange eyes burned with an almost unearthly intensity, and with every breath, thick, heavy smoke billowed from its mouth, adding an ominous haze to the scene.
Its skin was a dark, ashen gray, and its massive feet resembled a blend of an elephant's strength and a lion's ferocity. As the creature finally stepped in fully into view, towering over everything around it, the crowd erupted into a deafening chant, their voices unified in awe and excitement:
"Behemoth! Behemoth! Behemoth!"
Anastasia, wearing a mocking smile spoke into the crystal microphone, her voice dripping with sarcasm:
"So, dear sister, how do you plan to handle this?"
In response, Yuni scoffed and leaped into the air with inhuman strength, aiming a powerful punch at the behemoth's left eye. However, before her attack could land, the creature swatted her with its massive left foot. It let out a rumbling growl before roaring ferociously at her as she lay sprawled on the ground.
The beast reared up its hind legs, its massive front feet poised to crush her into the dirt. However, just as its feet came crashing down, Yuni caught them with both hands, her body trembling under the immense weight.
Teeth clenched and determination burning in her eyes, her sleeves started to tore apart, revealing the hardened muscles and countless scars she had earned through countless years of battle.
The crowd fell into stunned silence for a moment before erupting into a chaotic frenzy of shock and disbelief. Meanwhile, Anastasia seethed inwardly, biting her lip hard enough to draw blood as she silently screamed, "Why won't you just die, you insufferable bitch?!"
After holding the beast's massive feet for just a split second, Yuni seized the chance to roll away, narrowly escaping harm. Rising to her feet, she turned to the crowd with a confident grin and called out:
"Anyone feeling generous enough to give this damsel a weapon?"
Anastasia shrieked, "No one dare give her anything!" however, one defiant spectator in the crowd ignore her command and hurled a gleaming silver longsword down to the arena.
Yuni let out a mocking laugh at Anastasia before turning her focus to the beast, which was now preparing to charge at her.
Gripping the silver longsword in her right hand, she raised it and pointed it toward the creature's left tusk, a defiant scoff escaping her lips.
Closing her eyes, she took a deep breath before dashing forward with such speed that she shattered the sound barrier. In one swift motion, she swung the longsword upward, slicing the beast's left tusk cleanly in half.
Without missing a beat, she dodged the falling tusk and pivoted, slashing at the creature's front heels with precision and force.
As the crowd's excitement grew and Anastasia's fury boiled over, Yuni narrowly evaded the beast's thrashing tail. With agile precision, she sprinted up its spine and onto its massive back.
Raising the silver longsword high, she drove it down with all her strength, piercing the top of the creature's skull just as it unleashed a deafening roar of pain.
With a cold, determined look in her eyes, Yuni spoke as she drove the longsword deeper into the creature's skull, her voice layced with icy sarcasm:
"Why don't you make this easier for me, hmm?"
The crowd gasped in shock as they watched Yuni pull the longsword from the beast's skull and drive it back down. This time, she dragged the blade along its spine, slicing through flesh and bone all the way down to its tail.
With one final, decisive stroke, she cleaved the massive creature in half, leaving everyone in stunned silence at the sheer brutality of her strength.
As she landed on the ground, a torrent of blood rained down upon her. Raising her arms high, she wore an almost manic yet confident grin and shouted,
"Are you not entertained?"
Silence.. Silence.. Stunned silence.
Until one spectator started cheering her name and slowly two after that it was three until it was everyone. The crowd had erupted into thunderous cheers, chanting Yuni's name with wild fervor.
Meanwhile, Anastasia collapsed to her knees in utter defeat, her voice trembling as she muttered to herself,
"How.. How is this possible? How?!"
Yuni let out a soft chuckle, her eyes locked onto her sister as she pointed toward her, "Alright, sis, have you seen a Rattian? Not the usual kind, but the mole variety?"
Confused and irritated, Anastasia wiped away her tears, her voice sharp with frustration,
"What in the Gods are you talking about?"
Satisfied with her response, Yuni simply nodded and began to walk away. Just as she was about to leave through the massive gates, she glanced back at her sister, raising her middle finger in a silent gesture, while mouthing,
"Bye bitch."
Seeing the raised middle finger and realizing what she just mouthed, Anastasia let out a furious scream, her rage boiling over.
She clenched the crystal microphone so tightly it shattered in her hand. Unable to contain her fury, she stormed out of the arena, shouting Yuni's name and cursing her to die.
Stepping out of the arena, Yuni found herself back at the dimly lit club, her gaze landing on Aralia just as a tall, cloaked figure dragged her away.
Alarmed and frustrated, Yuni shouted her name and sprinted after them, only to reach the exit and find that they had both vanish into thin air.
"Damn it!" she cursed whilst clenching her teeth.
A familiar voice, rough yet gentle, called out to her, "Oi! We found the entrance to the Ocean Ruins!"
Turning around, Yuni spotted Volhcard perched on Idol's broad shoulders, with Theo, Jae, and Sticky standing nearby, their expressions determined.
Yuni, her frustration evident, brushed past them, "I found Aralia," she said sharply, "but she's been taken to the ruins. And how do I know this?" she pointed to faint mana glyphs glowing softly on the ground.
Theo quickly stepped up beside her, a determined grin on his face, "Well, let's get moving, lads!"
