Dragon Ball: The Strongest Training

Chapter 8: "What is the Celestial Stone?"

A tiger's mournful roar echoed through the forest. The massive beast lay defeated on the ground as Krillin pounded its head with his fists. Moments later, the tiger let out its final cry before succumbing to its fate.

"Damn beast! You're pretty clever for making me chase you across three whole mountains!" Krillin grumbled, wiping the sweat from his forehead in frustration.

"System, scan for energy," he ordered.

Ding!

"Detected: Energy value: 5 points."

"Pfft, useless trash!" Krillin spat. Ever since he transitioned out of his stable training phase, gathering energy had become increasingly difficult. His energy reserves were running low, and he couldn't help but laugh bitterly at his predicament.

Krillin's current adventure had taken him to desolate, uninhabited lands, some classified as perilous zones by the United Kingdom. Despite the harsh environment, indigenous tribes still lived here, hunting for survival. When the tribespeople met Krillin, they warmly welcomed him with food and drink. Over two weeks, Krillin had slowly integrated into their group, often joining Old Ah Man, one of the elders, on hunting trips.

The tiger had been downed for a while when Ah Man's son, Little Man, arrived with a group of villagers. Little Man, standing over two meters tall, was a burly and muscular figure. Due to the language barrier, Krillin had given Old Man and Little Man their names.

Little Man approached Krillin, speaking animatedly in their tongue, his gestures seemingly praising Krillin's strength. Though Krillin couldn't understand, he imagined they were marveling at how someone his size could possess such power.

The villagers began carrying the tiger back to their settlement, struggling under its weight. Krillin waved them off. "No need for that!" He tossed out a capsule, instantly encapsulating the tiger.

The villagers fell to their knees in shock, chanting words that sounded like they were worshipping a deity.

Back at the encampment, Old Ah Man looked disappointed when the group initially returned empty-handed. However, Little Man animatedly described what had happened, and when Krillin opened the capsule to reveal the tiger, the elder's expression turned to awe, followed by a jubilant chant of praise.

Their hunt had been a success, and the villagers organized a bonfire celebration in Krillin's honor. As the main contributor, he was naturally the star of the event.

The Next Morning

Sunlight streamed through the forest canopy, birds chirped happily, and the villagers bustled about in preparation. Krillin learned from Little Man that today was a monthly sacrificial ritual requiring everyone's participation.

When Old Ah Man brought out some black, hardened stones for the ceremony, the system immediately reacted.

Ding!

"High-grade energy detected. Energy level: significant."

"What? Where?" Krillin asked excitedly.

"Find it yourself," the system replied smugly. "I've already done you a favor by telling you."

"Damn you! One day, I'll uninstall you!"

Krillin began scanning for the source, and the system quickly identified it.

Target: Old Ah Man's hand.

Item: Celestial Stone (Fragment)

Energy Value: 2,500 points Description: Emits energy that organisms can absorb to enhance their combat power. As a fragment, its effectiveness is significantly reduced. Origin: Celestial System, Celestial Planet.

Krillin's eyes lit up. "2,500 energy points?!" This was an incredible find, but his excitement quickly turned to concern. If he didn't know these people, he could have simply taken it. However, having grown close to these kind and innocent villagers, he felt conflicted.

"Hopefully, it's not too important," Krillin muttered. But seeing how Old Ah Man handled the stone so carefully during the ritual, it was clear it held immense value.

After the Ritual

Krillin hesitated but decided to try his luck. He approached Old Ah Man and politely gestured toward the Celestial Stone.

The elder looked at him, confused but still smiling warmly. Krillin quickly sketched the stone on a piece of paper, pointed to the drawing, then pointed to himself. Old Ah Man's expression shifted to one of suspicion.

Krillin chuckled nervously and pulled out another sketch, this one of various animals. He gestured between the animals and the stone, attempting to convey that he wanted to trade the stone for food.

Understanding dawned on Old Ah Man's face, and he nodded. His gestures indicated he believed Krillin could fulfill the request.

With Krillin's strength, hunting was no challenge. Within a single day, he secured enough food to sustain the entire tribe for three months.

When he returned, Old Ah Man reluctantly retrieved a small leather pouch, carefully opening it to reveal the Celestial Stone. He handed it to Krillin.

Krillin grinned triumphantly, feeling the warmth of the stone in his hand. "No wonder this was so treasured—it's extraordinary!"

The system chimed in: "Don't get too attached. The Celestial Planet was destroyed 1.5 billion years ago. This is just a relic of the past."

Three Days Later

Having absorbed the stone's energy, Krillin was ready to leave. But just as he was packing, Old Ah Man entered his hut, carrying another pouch.

Ding!

"Detected high-grade energy!"

Krillin's eyes widened. "Another one?! You old fox!"

Old Ah Man presented the pouch and gestured for another trade. Krillin played along, feigning reluctance, forcing the elder to sweeten the deal with not one but four fragments:

Energy Values: 3,000, 1,500, 1,000, 4,100.

After teaching Old Ah Man how to use the capsules, Krillin departed the village. The entire tribe gathered to see him off, their expressions full of gratitude.

As Krillin waved goodbye, he silently vowed: "I'll protect Earth and ensure you can live here in peace!"
