Dragon Ball: The Strongest Training

Chapter 21: Warriors to Protect Earth

Krillin carefully transplanted the four senzu bean rootlets into his "Senzu Bean Plantation." As soon as they were planted, the life energy within the space began to concentrate around the roots, gradually transforming into the nutrients the plants needed to grow.

"Whew," Krillin wiped his brow. "It's done. Now it's just a matter of waiting for the senzu beans to bloom and bear fruit."

Krillin stepped outside with Korin. Nearby, Fanny was still training hard. Korin, observing this, smiled and said, "Fanny is a good kid—kind-hearted and incredibly diligent. You've taken in an excellent disciple."

Korin couldn't help but compare Fanny to Master Roshi in his younger days. Clicking his tongue, he muttered, "Far more hardworking than that old turtle ever was."

Krillin laughed and replied, "He'll need your guidance, Korin. I'll soon be leaving Earth and might not have the chance to train him personally for a while."

Korin was surprised. "Leaving Earth? Why?"

Krillin nodded solemnly. "Earth is too peaceful. I need constant challenges and battles to sharpen my skills… so I can better protect Earth… and the ones I care about."

Korin frowned. "You're already so strong. Surely, you're capable of protecting Earth as you are?"

Krillin smiled bitterly. "Not even close. The enemies Earth will face in the future are beyond imagination. In the vast universe, there are beings so powerful that they could reduce Earth to cosmic dust with a flick of their finger. Against them, I wouldn't even compare to that finger."

The weight of Krillin's words left Korin visibly shaken, his face pale and speechless.

At the Lookout

Up at the Lookout, Kami had overheard Krillin's conversation with Korin. Trembling, he dropped his staff without even realizing it.

Popo noticed Kami's distress and approached him. "Kami, is something wrong?"

Kami waved him off, signaling he was fine, but he couldn't tear his focus away from Krillin's words below.

"None of this makes sense," Korin finally said. "For thousands of years, there hasn't been an invasion. Why now?"

Kami, still listening from the Lookout, nodded in agreement. This was his question as well.

"That's because Earth is insignificant," Krillin explained. "In the eyes of the universe, Earth is a low-value, primitive planet with no resources worth exploiting. The major powers of the universe simply haven't noticed us yet. But if they do…"

"So… Earth isn't safe because of its strength, but because it's too unimportant to invade." Korin's voice was heavy with despair.

Krillin smiled faintly. "But don't despair. When the time comes, Earth will rise to the occasion. A group of powerful warriors will emerge, willing to fight with everything they've got to defend this planet. And I'll be among them."

Korin's eyes widened. "How do you know all this?"

"After Tambourine killed me, Goku gathered the Dragon Balls to revive me. Ever since then, I've been having fragmented memories of future events. At first, I didn't believe them, but as time passed, things I remembered began to line up with what I experienced in the present. Now, I'm certain: I can foresee fragments of the future."

Kami's Concern

Kami, still listening, was visibly shaken. Sweat dripped from his forehead as he processed Krillin's revelation.

Meanwhile, Korin fell deep into thought. Krillin's rapid growth in power now made sense. Facing the looming threat of Earth's destruction had likely fueled his incredible progress.

What Korin didn't know was that Krillin had exaggerated some details. "I just wanted an excuse to leave Earth and give everyone a heads-up about the planet's defense. Didn't expect Korin to overthink it this much," Krillin thought to himself.

Planting Hope

"Will Earth really produce warriors strong enough to fend off such powerful forces?" Korin asked doubtfully.

Krillin's response was firm. "Absolutely."

Kami muttered to himself from the Lookout, "Powerful warriors? Could Piccolo be one of them?" Deep down, Kami still hoped that Piccolo—his split counterpart—could redeem himself and protect Earth, perhaps as a way to atone for Kami's own past mistakes.

"What can I do to help?" Korin asked Krillin.

"You can start by identifying potential warriors from Earth and training them as a reserve defense force," Krillin suggested.

Korin nodded. "That's a good idea."

Farewell to Korin

Krillin then said, "Korin, I'm entrusting Fanny to you. I need to go to the Lookout to discuss leaving Earth with Kami."

"Understood," Korin said, watching as Krillin took to the sky.

As Krillin's figure disappeared into the clouds, Korin felt a newfound sense of hope. "With warriors like him, Earth will be safe."

"Come on, Fanny! Back to training!"

Meeting Kami

When Krillin reached the Lookout, Kami was already standing at the edge, waiting for him.

The sound of Krillin's footsteps echoed as he landed. "Kami, long time no see," he said.

Kami's expression was grave. "Is what you told Korin true?" Though he had overheard everything, he couldn't help but ask again.

Krillin set aside his usual cheerful demeanor and nodded seriously.

Kami closed his eyes, deep in thought, before slowly opening them.

"There's no need to worry too much," Krillin said calmly. "When the time comes, Earth's warriors will stand together to protect this planet. With us here, Earth won't fall."

Kami nodded slightly, though his heart remained heavy. "Earth has existed for countless millennia. It has its own destiny and won't be so easily destroyed," he said, trying to convince himself.

Reassuring Kami About Piccolo

Kami hesitated before asking, "In your memories… was Piccolo among these warriors?" His voice trembled with both fear and hope.

Krillin immediately understood Kami's concerns and firmly replied, "Yes. Piccolo will be a powerful defender of Earth."

Tears welled in Kami's eyes as he gazed upward. "I knew it… Piccolo…"

Even Mr. Popo, who rarely showed emotion, wiped away a tear. For centuries, Kami had been weighed down by guilt, but Krillin's reassurance seemed to lift that burden.

Seeing their reactions, Krillin couldn't help but add with a smile, "Piccolo, as an exceptional Namekian, will truly become one of Earth's greatest protectors."

"Exceptional indeed," Krillin thought to himself. "Given Earthlings' limitations, even I'll eventually be a background character. But Piccolo? He'll always be a pillar of strength."

A Shocking Revelation

"What? Namekian?" Kami's eyes widened in shock.
