Depths: Where Power Rules

Chapter 7: A True Monster.

He felt cold shivers run down his spine as he walked into the tomb of Amalton.

It was as big as the city's hospital and it also didn't contain only the dead body of Mandelvat, other gods were there too.

He knew all of that just by taking a look at the picture at the entrance of the tomb that was drawn on a stone.

He walked into the narrow passage way, having to listen to eering sounds.

When he got to the first door he couldn't help but scream loudly. It was designed with humans heads and to him, the most scary part was that, a neck was the doorknob.

Shakily, he finally grabbed the neck and kicked the door open.

'Welcome, Kyan' he heard from behind him, but when he turned... There was no one there.

'You can't see me' the voice said again and laughed. 'But I can eat you' the voice gave an eering masculine voice.

'P-p-please' Kyan managed to say.

'Run Kyan, run!' the voice said again.

Without thinking twice, Kyan ran out of the room and speedily down the deserted hall way.

He then stumbled upon a room and a text was written on it which said Amalton.

At first he was reluctant because he felt insecure after the incident with the ghost but when he heard the hungry ghost call out to him, he ran into the room and shut the door.

As he step into the grand chamber, he is immediately enveloped in a warm, golden aura that seems to radiate from the very walls themselves. The air is thick with an otherworldly energy, and the atmosphere is heavy with anticipation. The room is enormous, with a high, vaulted ceiling that disappears into darkness, giving the impression of being boundless.

The walls, made of a polished, creamy stone, seem to glow with a soft, ethereal light, as if infused with a subtle, inner radiance. The floor, covered in a thick, plush carpet, is a deep, rich crimson, and it stretches out before him like a vast.

At the far end of the room, on a raised dais, stands a magnificent, golden casket. The casket itself is a masterpiece of craftsmanship, adorned with intricate, swirling patterns that seem to dance across its surface. The gold is so finely wrought that it appears almost liquid, as if it might flow and ripple like molten metal.

The casket is clearly designed to hold a creature of great importance, and its sheer size suggests that the beast within is massive. The lid, which is slightly ajar, reveals a glimpse of luxurious, velvety fur, and the scent of exotic spices and incense wafts out, teasing the senses.

As he approach the casket, he feels the weight of history and reverence in the air. This is a place of great solemnity, where a legendary creature has been laid to rest. The golden aura that pervades the room seems to be a testament to the beast's majesty, and the fine, golden casket is a fitting tribute to it's grandeur.

He smiled as he couldn't help but feel victorious from the inside.

He was about to touch the fine casket and maybe see who was inside when a golden light shone upon him and yes, he did see Mandelvat and he truly was in a magnificent form.

'I stand before you, great one' Kyan announced his presence to the beast king, feeling terrified.

'Salutations does me no good, mortal, but because you are the ultimate immortal, I, Mandelvat of Amalton bow before you' he announced as his head touched Kyan's feet.

'Is he real? If he is truly Mandelvat, why is he bowing to me, something's wrong' he thought but, he couldn't overthink it as the sound and feels of the rumbling earthquake from underneath disrupted him.

He took a look at Mandelvat just so he could either stop him or make him do whatever he had to do swiftly, but Mandelvat didn't show any sign of fear.

At first, Kyan was outrightly confused but, then he remembered that Mandelvat was dead.

' I need to get going, this tomb can't be destroyed while I am still here, I don't want to join you yet' Kyan told the bowing Mandelvat with a tone of terror.

'But you haven't gotten what you came here for' Mandelvat said and rose to his feet.

Summoning the heart of the storm, the eyes of the earth, the flames of the gods and the tears of the sea. Mandelvat awakened Kyan's inner power.

'I will tell you when to call the name Madpuh, and when I do, shout with all your inner strength Kyan' Mandelvat said with a smile and then he concentrated on his chanting.

After a short while, Mandelvat yelled "Now" and with every little last inner strength, Kyan screamed out the name.

And in a flash, he saw a hairy monster from the "golden en water".

'What am I?' he asked curiously, but there was no one there. All he saw was a smiley face on Mandelvat's casket, the earthquake also stopped and the portal opened.

'Time to go home Kyan' he heard Mandelvat say with an echoing voice.

He was saddened by the fact that he only had to take what he wanted and couldn't stay long.

'You can always visit next time Kyan, the portal will lead you directly to my room and then we will meet again' Kyan heard again but this time it came with a laughter that echoed in his ear till he was in the mortal world.

'Welcome back, Kyan' The three gods said uniformly, making Kyan feel a bit appreciated.

'I can transform now, and I think I am starting to feel some powers' he said with a cute smile which made the gods smile for the first time in two millennium.
