Chapter 2: Chapter 2 - The Shattered Eternity

The Shattered Eternity is divided into distinct areas or "fragments"—each with its own chaotic essence. These fragments are like pieces of broken mirrors that reflect different aspects of Discord's nature, constantly shifting and intermingling, creating an unpredictable and often unnerving environment. The land is not a cohesive whole but an endless collage of broken pieces, stitched together by sheer chaos.

It is not a realm bound by typical laws of time or space; rather, it is a chaotic blend of fractured realities, fragmented dimensions, and constantly shifting environments. It is a place where nothing is ever truly fixed, and every element of existence is in a constant state of flux and transformation.

The central core of Discord's realm is the Infinity Fracture, an immense, swirling void that seems to fracture space and time. It's as if the very fabric of reality has been torn apart here, with cracks that extend infinitely in all directions. These cracks pulse and shimmer with energies that twist the surrounding landscape, distorting the laws of physics. Gravity is inconsistent—sometimes, objects float, and other times, they plummet without warning.

The fracture is not just a void; it's a place filled with shifting, prismatic light, the fragments of distant stars and collapsing galaxies swirling within. The light refracts in unnatural ways, creating illusions and making it hard to tell what is real and what is a mirage. The air is thick with an electric hum, and the ground seems to writhe underfoot.

This is where the full force of Discord's chaos can be felt. The Fracture represents the breaking of all things: time, space, and the concept of order itself. Nothing in this area stays the same for long.

The next area was The Temporal Labyrinth. This fragment is a sprawling maze of ever-shifting corridors and passageways that seem to stretch on forever. Time flows differently within this section of Discord's realm—one moment you might be walking through an endless hallway that leads to nowhere, and the next, you could find yourself years in the past or future, experiencing a momentary glimpse of the past or a future that hasn't yet come to be.

The walls are a blend of shimmering glass and fractured stone, constantly bending and folding in on themselves. The floors are covered in cracked mirrors and warped metal, creating a kaleidoscope of images that can overwhelm the senses. At times, it feels like the maze itself is alive, its very structure shifting to prevent any form of escape.

The Twilight Plains are a vast stretch of land that exists between the realms of light and darkness. Here, day and night do not exist in a typical sense. The sky is always twilight, with the sun never fully setting or rising, casting everything in an eerie, perpetual state of half-light. The terrain is constantly shifting—forests, mountains, rivers, and seas that appear and vanish at will.

The plains are made of dark, twisted trees that seem to have no roots, growing from the ground in strange patterns. The air is thick with fog that flickers with strange colors, and the horizon is constantly changing. Floating islands drift above the plains, each holding strange ruins or alien landscapes. In the distance, the faint shapes of luminous creatures can be seen, flickering in and out of existence, like shadows of dreams.

The Twilight Plains represent Discord's influence on the boundary between reality and illusion. Here, perception is unreliable. What appears to be a safe path might suddenly lead into a chasm, and what seems like an eternal night might shift into a brilliant dawn or vanish into an endless dusk.

A vast, endless ocean whose waters are filled with fractals—patterns that repeat and grow, shifting constantly. The water is clear yet seems to reflect multiple versions of reality at once. Waves rise and fall, but they often break into endless, looping spirals that collapse back upon themselves, never truly moving forward.

The sea shimmers with an ethereal light that flickers between the colors of the rainbow, casting strange, ever-changing reflections. Massive whirlpools form in the distance, their center a swirling vortex of incomprehensible patterns. Ships made of pure energy occasionally appear and disappear, their sails shifting between different types of material, from stone to liquid to solid.

The Fractal Sea represents the endless repetition and recycling of chaos. Nothing in this sea ever truly moves linearly; everything is bound to repeat itself in endless loops. It reflects the cyclic nature of discord, with events continuously spiraling, only to return to where they began, yet never the same.

At the heart of Discord's realm, the Citadel of Broken Mirrors stands as a reflection of his will and dominance. The citadel is a massive structure built from countless shards of mirrors, each piece capturing a different reality or possibility, constantly shifting and distorting. The citadel itself is vast and sprawling, with hallways that seem to go on forever, and doors that open into completely different worlds or dimensions with no explanation.

The citadel's walls are covered in fractured glass, its windows shattered yet not broken, as if they have fractured the laws of reality itself. Endless staircases stretch upward and downward, leading to nowhere. The corridors are filled with whispering echoes of people who have entered and never left, their voices reverberating through the glass. Light bends strangely within the citadel, casting distorted shadows that appear to move independently of the objects that cast them.

The Citadel represents the heart of Discord's power. It is the place where all of his manipulations and schemes are carefully arranged, where he observes and manipulates the endless possibilities of the universe. It is both a prison and a throne, a place where all paths converge and break apart.

The Ruins of Yesterday is a region where fragments of lost civilizations and forgotten histories exist. The land is covered in the remains of ancient cities, broken monuments, and lost technologies. These ruins are in constant flux, as elements of the past suddenly appear, fade, or transform into something entirely new.

The land is dotted with towering statues that shift their forms between different deities, mortals, and creatures from various timelines. Stone buildings crumble into dust only to be rebuilt moments later while floating ruins appear and disappear like mirages. Time seems to stretch and bend here, with ancient ruins coexisting alongside future cities, constantly merging and separating.

This fragment reflects Discord's control over history and how the past and future are not separate but are eternally intertwined. Here, the past is never gone; it is simply scattered, waiting to be reshaped by the whims of chaos.

The final fragment is a vast, endless void that separates all of the other realms. It is a space between worlds, where the barriers between realities break down. This place is defined by complete isolation, yet it holds an undercurrent of constant motion, as if invisible forces are pulling and stretching the very fabric of existence.

The void is black, but filled with tiny, distant lights that flicker like dying stars or floating particles that twist in impossible directions. Occasionally, strange shapes or figures can be seen drifting through the void, shifting in and out of perception. The edges of this space seem to blur with the rest of Discord's realm, making it feel like the center of everything and yet the edges of nowhere.

The Void Between Worlds represents the ultimate chaotic potential—the raw, unformed essence of all possibilities, untouched by structure or order. It is where Discord goes to retreat, to find new paths to weave, and to watch the threads of all his creations collide.

Together, these fragmented parts make up The Shattered Eternity, a reflection of Discord's chaotic nature, a realm constantly in flux, where time, space, and reality are all subject to his whims. No two visits to his realm would ever be the same, and those who enter would never know if they are stepping into the beginning, the end, or something else entirely. It is the ultimate expression of chaos: unpredictable, beautiful, terrifying, and endlessly shifting.

But he noticed how his older siblings had residents in their realms. Being made through their power, native to their respective realms with purposes and functions to carry out in aid of the Endless that created them.

Dream, have the dreams and nightmares he crafted for the mortals, old gods, and Death with her night nurses.

Discord also created various beings to serve him, each reflecting a different aspect of his nature: unpredictable, elusive, and merciless. These entities are neither entirely malevolent nor benevolent; they exist to uphold the principles of disorder, pushing the boundaries of reality and maintaining the disintegration of stability in the universe. Their forms, powers, and purposes are as diverse as their realms.

His first creation was the The Heralds of the Fractured Dawn. The Heralds are Discord's most trusted servants, tasked with announcing the arrival of new, world-altering events or the collapse of existing order. They are agents of change and disruption, sowing seeds of chaos and guiding the universe into its next phase of turmoil. They are also responsible for ensuring that Discord's will is carried out across different realities, ensuring his influence over worlds in disarray.

The Heralds appear as humanoid figures, but their forms are constantly shifting, never settling into one complete shape. They might have multiple faces, glowing eyes, and contorted limbs. Their skin seems to ripple with a shifting, fractal pattern that defies natural symmetry, often flickering between solid and transparent like an illusion.

The Heralds have the power to manipulate timelines and bend the threads of reality. They can create paradoxes, erase events, and distort memories. Their presence alone can alter the course of history, unhinging events in the past, present, or future.

Next were The Eclipsed Ones. These beings are tasked with guarding the edges of The Shattered Eternity—the liminal space between Discord's realms and the unknown. They prevent unwanted intruders from entering or leaving Discord's domain, acting as both gatekeepers and executioners. They ensure that the chaos of the realm does not spill into other parts of the multiverse unless Discord desires it.

The Eclipsed Ones are humanoid but feature multiple shadowed faces with glowing eyes that seem to pierce through the darkness. Their bodies are draped in flowing cloaks made of shadows, and they often flicker in and out of existence, disappearing and reappearing as if caught between worlds. Their hands are elongated, with fingers that extend and retract unnaturally.

The Eclipsed Ones are capable of shrouding realities in darkness, rendering entire dimensions impervious to outside influence. They can manipulate space and time, creating wormholes, erasing memories, or sealing off entire universes. They are also skilled in shadow manipulation, controlling the darkness between worlds and using it to trap or banish foes.

His third kiddies were The Dissonants. The Dissonants are Discord's emissaries of discordance—creatures born from pure sound, vibration, and imbalance. They are sent out to sow chaos in the mortal and godly realms, where their very presence causes conflict, disorder, and destruction. They thrive on the dissonance they create between ideas, emotions, and actions, pushing entire civilizations into chaos through subtle manipulation or loud, disruptive events.

These beings have fluid forms, composed of constantly shifting waves of energy. Some might appear as humanoid figures made entirely of sonic waves or pulsing rhythms, while others might have forms that resemble abstract sound patterns or rippling distortions. Their bodies often have an aura of noise that warbles and fluctuates in volume.

(Suggest Images)

The Dissonants can generate soundwaves that affect the fabric of reality, creating emotional or physical chaos. They can induce fear, rage, or madness in beings, warp perceptions of time, or even cause worlds to unravel. Their sound-based powers can manifest as sonic blasts, vibration manipulation, or the ability to shatter physical and metaphysical constructs.

The Anomalies are Discord's chaotic constructs of imperfection. They are sent to alter, break, or subvert the systems of order that exist in various universes—be it natural laws, political structures, or societal norms. Their existence challenges the idea of perfect harmony and strives to ensure that no matter what, imperfection remains a fundamental truth.

These beings appear as mismatched and imperfect amalgams of various creatures, misaligned parts, or disjointed forms. One might have a face made of wings, a body made of flame, and hands made of ice. Another might have multiple torsos or limbs that are too long or short, seemingly stuck together with the force of pure chaos.

(Suggest Images)

The Anomalies have the power to alter physical laws in their immediate surroundings. They can warp physics by changing the speed of time, reversing entropy, or defying gravity. Their presence in a world can create a rift in reality, causing rules to break down—a tree might grow upside down, or a river might flow backward. They thrive in disorder and are constantly reshaping the environments they inhabit.

In a flow of creativity, he didn't stop there. The Cataclysts are agents of ultimate destruction, responsible for setting events into motion that will cause the downfall of great empires or trigger universal-scale disasters. Discord uses them when he wishes to bring about cataclysmic events that will either destroy or irrevocably transform a reality. These beings are often seen as harbingers of doom, their very presence marking the end of an era.

(Suggest Images)

The Cataclysts are massive, elemental beings, often taking forms reminiscent of volcanic eruptions, storms, or black holes. Their bodies are made of destructive forces, with flames and lightning crackling around them, or their forms might appear as imposing monolithic structures that seem to defy time and space. Their faces are often hidden behind masks or made from smoke and flame, only visible when they desire to show themselves.

Cataclysts possess the power to trigger natural disasters, summon apocalyptic forces, and rupture realities. They can cause the collapse of entire systems, from planetary bodies to entire timelines. Whether by invoking natural disasters like earthquakes, floods, and wildfires, or causing celestial bodies to collide, they create environments of annihilation.

The Disruptors are the subtlest of Discord's servants, working in the shadows to manipulate situations from within. They are responsible for causing confusion, division, and misunderstandings, often acting as the catalysts of small but impactful events that eventually cascade into larger conflicts. These beings thrive on the disruption of order through subtle whispers and deceptive suggestions.

The Disruptors take the form of ethereal, nearly invisible figures. They have no fixed appearance but are often surrounded by a faint aura of shifting shapes, like shadows constantly in motion. Their forms flicker between human-like figures and indistinct patterns, difficult to perceive clearly.

(Suggests Images)

The Disruptors excel at psychological manipulation. They can implant thoughts, twist emotions, or incite paranoia in their targets, subtly pushing them toward actions that will disrupt the flow of events. They can create deceptive illusions, distort memories, or alter perceptions of reality, ensuring that Discord's plans unfold without direct confrontation.

The last of his creations of which he only made three, The Harbingers of Undoing. These entities are tasked with undoing reality itself, causing creations or realities to deteriorate, unravel, and ultimately vanish from existence. They represent Discord's ability to destroy what has been created, ensuring that no permanence ever lasts in his realm or beyond it. They are the agents of total negation, whose sole purpose is to erode the existence of worlds, ideas, or even time itself.

The Harbingers appear as ghostly shapes or figures made of pure entropy, with bodies that seem to dissipate into thin air. They might have faces of shifting energy or look like an ever-dissolving silhouette. Their presence feels like the decay of the universe—they are an unsettling sight, a reminder that nothing is safe from Discord's will.

(Suggest Images)

The Harbingers wield the power of entropy, decay, and negation. They can unravel the very essence of life, turning anything they touch into dust or nothingness. These beings can erase entire timelines, wipe out memories, and make ideas or beings cease to exist entirely, erasing their connection to reality.

When he was finished, creating both his realm and his subjects eons had passed, but to a thing like him, the concept of time was inconsequential.

Discord was currently sitting on his throne, his gaze passing through realms to lock onto the current beings that had his attention (Unfortunately for them) the Old Gods.

"Hmmm, their rule, their... stability, is an insult. This needs correcting. A new age, beyond the end of this one."

He leaned back onto his throne and tapped the arm with his index finger twice. From the shadows emerged a Disruptor.

"Yes my Lord"

"It's time for a new age. Take two of your siblings, pluck the strings, and topple the dominoes. In the end, the result must be the twilight of the Old Gods. Please me in you execution and I shall grant you and the sibling you select names. Fail me and I shall devour you"

The Disruptor vibrated in excitement at he property of an Identity beyond what he was, and the prospect of acknowledgment from his creator. If he failed failed he would gladly over himself to be devoured.

"Yes my, Lord. I will not fail you."

"...Good. I'll be watching you performance."
