They couldn't help but acknowledge the overwhelming support for Dragon Boom, with the fans chanting their names, and their loyalty echoing throughout the building. Yet, there was no shortage of respect for Tyler and Moxley. Both teams had earned their place in this high-stakes showdown, and everyone knew that anything could happen once that bell rang.
The atmosphere in the arena was electric, the tension between the two teams palpable. The referee stood in the center of the ring, ensuring everything was in order before the match officially began. The crowd's excitement reached a fever pitch as the ring announcer, microphone in hand, stepped forward to introduce the teams.
"Ladies and gentlemen," the announcer boomed, his voice carrying across the arena, "the following contest is scheduled for one fall and is for the FCW Tag Team Championship!"
The fans erupted into cheers, their voices blending together in a deafening roar as the announcer continued to announce.
"Introducing first, the challengers, standing in the left corner of the ring, the team of Tyler Black and Jon Moxley!" The ring announcer gestured toward the two men standing confidently in their corner.
Tyler, with his calculating smirk and intense gaze, raised his hand high, acknowledging the crowd with a cold, almost dismissive attitude. Moxley, ever the unpredictable wild card, threw his hands into the air in a display of chaotic energy, his eyes locked on Sandro and Kofi across the ring.
The crowd's reaction was mixed, with some fans loudly chanting for the challengers, but many more still rooted for Dragon Boom, their chants reverberating through the arena. Tyler and Moxley stood firm, unfazed by the mixed reception. They were here for one thing, and one thing only, to claim the FCW Tag Team Championship.
The announcer paused, letting the cheers and jeers settle before continuing. "And their opponents, standing in the right corner of the ring, the reigning and defending FCW Tag Team Champions, Sandro Zhang and Kofi Kingston, Dragon Boom!"
The arena erupted once again, but this time the fans were almost deafening in their support for Dragon Boom. The chants of "Dragon Boom! Dragon Boom!" filled the air as Sandro and Kofi, their championship belts shining under the arena lights, raised their hands high, basking in the adoration of the crowd. Sandro's face remained calm, his focus unwavering, while Kofi's infectious energy radiated out to the audience, feeding off the cheers of the fans.
As the camera zoomed in on their faces, it was clear that both men were ready for what was sure to be one of the most intense matches of their careers. The pressure was immense.
Not only were they defending their titles, but they were doing so against two of the most dangerous and unpredictable competitors FCW had ever seen. But this was why they had fought so hard to get here, this was their moment to prove that they deserved to hold the gold.
The fans were clearly split in their loyalties, but it was impossible to ignore the overwhelming support for Dragon Boom. Their chemistry as a team was undeniable, and the fans had rallied behind them since the moment they were created in FCW.
Tyler and Moxley, on the other hand, were viewed as dangerous outsiders, determined to shake up the FCW Tag Team division, especially the way how Tyler had exploited Dragon Boom's condition and created the title match. Tonight, they had the chance to make their mark, but only if they could overcome the reigning champions.
The ring announcer stepped back, signaling the end of the introductions, and the referee moved to the center of the ring, holding the championship belts high before handing them off to the timekeeper. The sound of the bell ringing was like a shot to the heart, and the crowd responded with a roar, signaling the official start of the match.
The bell rang, signaling the start of the FCW Tag Team Championship match. Sandro and Kofi, collectively known as Dragon Boom, stood poised in their corner, Across the ring, Tyler Black and Jon Moxley, the challengers, exuded a palpable intensity.
The crowd's energy was electric, with chants of "Dragon Boom!" reverberating throughout the arena, though a significant portion also rallied behind the formidable duo of Black and Moxley.
Kofi and Tyler stepped forward as the legal men to commence the bout. They circled each other, eyes locked, before engaging in a classic collar-and-elbow tie-up.
Kofi, leveraging his agility, transitioned into a wristlock, applying pressure to Tyler's arm. Tyler, showcasing his technical prowess, performed a swift roll, reversing the hold into a hammerlock. The exchange was a testament to their wrestling acumen, each maneuver countered with precision.
"We're witnessing a masterclass in technical wrestling right from the outset," one commentator observed. "Both competitors are feeling each other out, looking for any advantage."
Kofi, ever the high-flyer, executed a seamless cartwheel to break free, immediately following up with a standing dropkick that sent Tyler staggering. The crowd erupted in approval as Kofi capitalized, whipping Tyler into the ropes.
On the rebound, Kofi attempted a leapfrog, but Tyler halted his momentum, catching Kofi mid-air and driving him to the mat with a thunderous spine buster that reverberated throughout the arena.
"What a counter by Tyler!" the commentator exclaimed. "He anticipated Kofi's agility and turned it into a power move."
Tyler seized the moment, dragging Kofi to his corner and tagging in Moxley. Moxley entered with a measured pace, his expression unreadable. There was a brief hesitation as he locked eyes with Kingston, memories of their past alliance from War Games flickering in his mind. Sensing this, Kingston took the initiative, delivering a sharp slap across Moxley's face, the sound echoing through the arena.
"Oh! Kofi just slapped the hesitation out of Moxley!" the commentator noted. "That might not have been the wisest decision made by Kofi tonight."
The slap acted as a catalyst, erasing any remnants of reluctance. Moxley's demeanor shifted to one of unbridled aggression. He unleashed a barrage of forearm strikes, each connecting with precision, driving Kofi into the ropes. Whipping him across the ring, Moxley caught Kofi on the return with a devastating lariat that flipped him inside out.
"Moxley is unleashing his pent-up aggression now," the commentator remarked. "He's fully committed to capturing those titles."
Moxley hoisted Kofi up, positioning him for a suplex. However, instead of a standard execution, he lifted Kingston onto the top turnbuckle, climbing up to set up a superplex. Kofi, sensing the danger, fought back with a series of punches to Moxley's midsection.
With a sudden burst of energy, Kofi shoved Moxley off the ropes, sending him crashing to the mat. Perched atop the turnbuckle, Kofi launched himself into the air, executing a flawless crossbody.
Moxley, displaying remarkable ring awareness, rolled through, using Kofi's momentum to stand up with Kofi in his grasp. He then transitioned into a brutal front slam, planting Kingston into the canvas.
"Unbelievable sequence!" the commentator shouted. "Moxley turned defense into offense in the blink of an eye."
Moxley covered Kofi, hooking the leg for the pin. The referee's hand slapped the mat twice before Sandro stormed into the ring, breaking the count with a well-placed kick to Moxley's back. The referee admonished Sandro, ordering him back to his corner. Moxley, unfazed, dragged Kofi to his corner and tagged in Tyler.
"Smart tag team strategy by Tyler and Moxley," the commentator analyzed. "They're isolating Kofi, preventing him from reaching his partner."
Tyler and Moxley executed a double suplex, lifting Kofi high before crashing him down to the mat. Tyler quickly went for the cover, but Kofi kicked out at two, showcasing his resilience. Undeterred, Tyler applied a rear chin lock, wrenching back to wear down Kofi further.
The crowd rallied behind Kofi, clapping rhythmically to will him back into the fight. Feeding off their energy, Kofi fought to his feet, delivering a series of elbows to Tyler's midsection, breaking free from the hold.
He dashed toward his corner, leaping to tag in Sandro. The arena erupted as Sandro entered the ring, a powerhouse for Dragon Boom ready to shift the momentum.
"Here comes Sandro!" the commentator exclaimed. "The fresh man is in, and business is about to pick up!"
Sandro charged at Tyler, leveling him with a clothesline. Moxley entered the ring, only to be met with a thunderous body slam from Sandro. With both challengers down, Sandro let out a roar, the crowd responding in kind.
"Sandro is a one-man wrecking crew right now," the commentator observed. "He's cleaning house!"
Tyler staggered to his feet, walking into Sandro's grasp. With a display of immense strength, Sandro hoisted Tyler overhead in a military press, and carried Tyler high above his head, showcasing his incredible strength.
The crowd roared in admiration, and with a powerful toss, Sandro sent Tyler crashing to the mat. Tyler winced in pain, clutching his back, while Sandro fed off the audience's energy.
Moxley charged at Sandro, but Sandro was ready. He sidestepped Moxley and hoisted him onto his shoulder in a fireman's carry, transitioning into a rolling senton that left Moxley sprawled out on the canvas.
Sandro, now a force of nature, turned his attention back to Tyler, who had made it to his feet and attempted a desperate superkick. Sandro caught Tyler's foot mid-air, spun him around, and delivered a thunderous belly-to-belly suplex.
"Sandro is dominating right now!" the commentator shouted. "He's showing exactly why Dragon Boom is the reigning tag team champions!"
With both challengers down, Sandro turned to his partner, extending his hand to tag in Kofi. Kofi, still feeling the effects of earlier punishment, climbed to the top rope after tagging in.
Sandro lifted Moxley into a suplex position, holding him steady as Kofi leaped off the turnbuckle with a flying crossbody, completing a picture-perfect tag team maneuver. The crowd erupted as Kofi immediately covered Moxley for the pin.
One… two… Tyler broke up the pinfall with a diving elbow to Kofi's back, saving the match for his team. Sandro entered the ring again, furious, and lunged at Tyler, but the referee quickly stepped in, shouting at Sandro to return to his corner. As Sandro argued with the official, Moxley seized the opportunity to rake Kofi's eyes, blinding him temporarily.
"Veteran move by Moxley," the commentator remarked. "Not exactly legal, but effective nonetheless."
Moxley dragged Kofi to his corner, tagging in Tyler. The two challengers executed a brutal double-team move, with Moxley delivering a backbreaker while Tyler followed up with a springboard elbow drop. Tyler went for the pin. One… two… Kofi kicked out at the last moment, and the crowd erupted in relief.
Meanwhile, the referee received a sudden instruction through his earpiece, a directive from Dusty Rhodes himself. "Tyler and Moxley are going over," Dusty's voice said firmly. The referee's eyes widened briefly, clearly taken aback by the decision. However, he quickly composed himself, his expression returning to stoic professionalism. He had a job to do, and the match continued uninterrupted.
Tyler, now frustrated, dragged Kofi to the center of the ring and applied a rear chinlock, leaning all his weight onto the smaller man. Kofi grimaced in pain, but the crowd rallied behind him, clapping rhythmically. Kofi slowly fought to his feet, delivering sharp elbows to Tyler's midsection. Breaking free, he bounced off the ropes and ducked under a clothesline attempt, rebounding with a flying forearm that sent Tyler sprawling.
Both men were down, crawling toward their corners. The crowd erupted as Kofi made the hot tag to Sandro, who stormed into the ring with a vengeance. Sandro leveled Tyler with a shoulder block and turned his attention to Moxley, who had entered illegally. Sandro scooped up Moxley and delivered a powerful powerslam, the impact shaking the ring.
Sandro set his sights on Tyler, lifting him onto his shoulders for a devastating Samoan drop. As Tyler writhed in pain, Sandro gestured for Kofi to climb the turnbuckle. The champions were setting up for a double move combo, but before Kofi could leap, Moxley shoved him off the top rope, sending him crashing to the floor outside.
