Chapter 9: Chapter 9
The original story has undergone some changes. But, I'm not interested in the slight changes to the story from the original. Just because I picked up a weapon that had no effect on the ending, there was no way there would be any major changes. After all, my own survival is my top priority for now.
Because of yesterday's duel, the Voltar sword's transcendent weapon is now fully in my hands.
Thanks to that, I escaped the fate of side characters and the evil plot of the original story given to Yuji Takahashi. And I can also raise my rank to A, in the novel it only explains Yuji has the potential to rise to rank A. However, throughout the story Yuji never managed to rise to rank A. He only stuck at rank B so that his strength lagged far behind the protagonist and his other colleagues. With the Voltar Sword in my grasp, I was able to break through the wall that prevented Yuji from ranking up.
"Worried about the butterfly effect after destroying the original storyline?"
I had already decided to consider that when I got Voltar.
"It's better to live a simple normal life like this, than to sit still and die a horrible death according to the plot of the novel."
Wouldn't it be better to avoid being like in the original story and die, rather than worrying about the butterfly effect?
The original story was already twisted when I, the transmigrant, intervened.
"If something goes wrong, I can handle it myself."
After all, I know everything in this world, from the beginning of the story to the characters and their endings.
If the flow changes due to the butterfly effect, I can use the original information to respond quickly.
It's worth a try, I should at least be responsible with what I've done.
While thinking about the original work, the protagonist appeared in my mind.
"He'll be fine from now on, right?"
In order to achieve his revenge, the protagonist must fight against the villain. It was as if the future was predetermined. The final boss is the protagonist's enemy.
Moreover, the protagonist's innate talent would make him capable of handling things on his own.
"Let them fight each other. After all, in the novel, the protagonist always manages to overcome all kinds of problems. Except for the ending."
I should focus on my own life, all I have to do is graduate from this academy and focus on returning to the home world. If I can't return at least get a well-paying job and try to live a normal life in this world.
"Yes, that's it. It's simple and I'm satisfied, there's no need to be greedy to do things."
At that moment.
"Clatter!"
The door to the hospital room suddenly opened.
"Hello, Mr. Yuji Takahashi."
Entering the room after opening the door was Sofia Helena Emma Marie Wilhelmina Van Oranje-Nassau, a beautiful blonde-haired, blue-eyed girl in a white school uniform jacket.
She pulled out a chair beside the bed and sat down, looking at me with her charming blue eyes.
"Well, how are you feeling?"
"Why did
you come here?"
I assumed there was a chance she would be looking for me. That's why Sofia's appearance didn't surprise me too much. The problem was for what reason she had come to visit me.
"Don't tell me you're here to get the Voltar Sword back?"
My eyes narrowed.
This was a pretty high percentage scenario.
Sofia is competitive, doesn't like to lose, is quite persistent, arrogant, haughty, stubborn, and takes great pride in believing that no one in school can understand the responsibilities of a hero other than her. Those are all parts that I dislike about this Heroine. Although there's still one more thing I really dislike about her.
She is a typical protagonist heroine in Japanese novels.
In the original work, she could not accept the defeat of the F-ranked protagonist, she followed and challenged him several times. Rank F, but the protagonist has the strength of a rank B, and can even match a rank A.
Sofia finally recognized the protagonist after she took the lead in defeating a new species of alien monsters that appeared at a gate to another world.
It sounds cool to see and describe it in a novel, but what if it's reality.
I don't like it, it sucks.
Why should I tolerate her sticking to me like super sticky glue on my body?
I'm going to have a lot of trouble if Sofia really does that.
My head is throbbing.
Fiction is most beautiful when it remains fiction.
In a novel an annoying scene will look cute, sweet, and beautiful. It's as if we dream of being able to live like in the novel. But unfortunately, novels are best when they remain fiction, not reality.
"That, that's not..."
Sofia was confused.
I quietly turned on my milk cell phone and turned on the voice recording.
"(Just in case you didn't expect me to win from you?)"
"(Win from me? I never expected you to win from me. I just thought if you could match my strength. I didn't expect more than that.)"
"(Then what if I manage to beat you?)"
"(That won't be possible.)"
"(What if it happens?)"
"(If that unexpected event really comes true. I will become your personal servant.)"
"(Hey, you're not serious about it are you?)"
"(I'm not joking and I won't go back on my word. And I can swear on the royal family's name.)"
As I played the voice recording in a loud voice, her words echoed in the hospital room.
"Ugh...!"
Sofia's face turned red.
Her cheeks were trembling.
I continued to play the voice recording mercilessly while grinning.
"Stop it! Please stop!"
Her face flushed up to her ears, Sofia shook her blonde hair and grabbed my hand holding the phone.
Whatever it was, I kept talking while looking at her.
"I have all the evidence captured on video, and you're still trying to force me to give Voltar back?"
"That wasn't my intention! Really!"
Sofia said with a pained expression.
Then what was the reason?
"I admit it..."
She spoke in a low voice.
"What?"
"A, I don't like it, but I admit it! About, you are the rightful owner of the Voltar sword!"
Gone was the sad look from before, Sofia confidently looked into my eyes and spoke.
"Since I, Willem's little sister, recognize you as the owner of Voltar, feel free to be happy."
Sofia chuckled and let go of my hand, crossing her arms over her chest and speaking in an arrogant tone.
The expression and demeanor of a tsundere character. And this is the reason why I dislike her, her tsundere nature. How can she do that in real life?
It was interesting when I saw her in the animation and in the novel.
But the reality isn't very good. Tsundere only looks attractive in novels and animations.
"Don't you remember the bet?"
"Ugh...!"
Sofia groaned.
After all, anyone could see that her actions were completely forced.
Ah! Damn it.
