Become A Side Character In The World Of The Novel I Read

Chapter 3: Chapter 3

A middle-aged man in a waiter's suit carefully carried a long suitcase. And then opened the suitcase by pressing a button.

"Click!"

The suitcase opened wide and revealed a shiny, rusty black sword.

"The last time this sword was opened in the storage room was when the late master's parents went on vacation. A time when no one expected a tragedy to occur. Why do you suddenly want to see this sword?"

The middle-aged man in the servant uniform was Taro Yamada. He was the butler who served in my house since my parents were young, asking carefully not wanting to make myself reminisce about the painful past.

I picked up the long sword that was in the suitcase.

"Would you like to use the sword?"

"Yes, it's about time this sword was used. There's no point in keeping this magical artifact without using it. It will fill up the storage space."

"So, I see."

I examined the long sword. The appearance of the sword was very similar to the one in the animation.

'Voltar'

This sword is from another country. I should sharpen this sword, it's already rusted too much.

"I hope you can make good use of your father's magical artifact legacy, Yuji-sama."

"Yes, I will definitely put this sword to good use, Taro-san."

"If you have anything else, please say so!"

"I don't need anything else. I will start practicing with this sword right away. Taro-san can continue your previous work."

"Understood."

Taro-san immediately went out of the room.

"Thud."

The heavy sound of the door closing, staring at the door of the room I sighed.

I stared at the long sword I was holding 'Voltar'.

The sword magical artifact sought by one of the 'White Gold Knight' heroine Sofia Helena Emma Marie Wilhelmina Van Oranje-Nassau.

At first glance, it may look like an ordinary magical sword artifact that has a deep black color with rust around the blade. And this magical artifact when it was discovered no one realized how valuable it was so it was treated like a unique magical artifact. And this sword magical artifact was obtained by Yuji's father while at the auction house.

Yuji's father was a collector of unique and simple magical artifacts. He never bought any high-value magical artifacts. Hence this artifact was in the storage room.

This sword was actually a sword owned by one of the seven heroes who saved the world dubbed 'Seven Nova Knights'. They were the heroes who saved the world from major crises and disasters. And the owner of the Voltar sword is one of the 'Seven Nova Knights' who comes from the Netherlands 'The Dark Lord' Willem Van Oranje-Nassau Van Amsberg.

And he was Sofia's cousin and a person she admired. The magical artifact weapon Voltar's sword disappeared when Willem died in battle. In volume 4, Yuji invited the protagonist and the heroine to visit his house. There too, Yuji shows a collection of magical artifacts. Sofia, who has a close bond with her cousin Willem, is attracted by the aura emitted by the sword. And Sofia realized that it was the magical artifact heirloom of the lost Voltar sword. Knowing this, Yuji and Sofia agreed to keep this valuable artifact in the Dutch royal treasure storage room. However, during the process of shipping weapons from Japan to the Netherlands there was theft and confrontation. This confrontation involves the protagonist group and the 'Independence Revolution League'.

'Revolutionary League of Independence'. An evil organization that stole the magical artifact of the Voltar sword. This organization also often got involved with the protagonist and caused chaos in the world.

"What do I care about all that? Although this sword was considered valuable and a high-class magical artifact, it was never used and was only kept in the Dutch royal treasure storage room. They wanted to honor Willem who died in battle so they didn't want the sword to be used again. And after volume 4, the sword was never brought up again. Therefore, I will use this sword because it is not too important to save the world. Although this will make the protagonist's relationship with Sofia less close. Yeah, whatever. After all, the protagonist will be cheated on and betrayed by Sofia."

Volume 4 is used to improve the relationship between the protagonist and Sofia.

It was a coincidence that Yuji's father bought a magical artifact at a regular auction and it turned out to be a high-class magical artifact. Then his son named Yuji befriends Sofia, the cousin of the owner of the sword. A cliché made by the author's view to make it comfortable. Even so, the execution of the story made by the author is very solid.

"Most novels do feature a lot of common clichés."

Staring at Voltar I sighed.

"Just focus on surviving and saving myself first."

Holding Voltar's sword, I felt a strange sensation that was unusual for holding a sword, but it seemed like this character's body seemed to be used to holding a sword.

"What exactly did I do to get stuck in this world?"

Letting out a long sigh and scratching the back of my head, I looked back at Voltar's sword. I quickly took out a penknife and opened it, slicing a bit of flesh off my thumb until it bled. I fearlessly pressed my thumb into the center of the hilt and pulled it straight up towards the tip of the blade. For a few seconds nothing happened.

"HM! I thought this was how to awaken Voltar's sword. I remember the way I did it was the same as what Sofia said in the novel."

I unintentionally unleashed my magic power. Suddenly my milk's magic power heated up and flowed so quickly throughout my body. Bringing myself to my knees.

"Gah! I forgot to let the magic flow when I applied the blood."

Surprised by the sudden reaction, I was in pain as I was unprepared for the magic energy that suddenly surged into my body. A hot sensation engulfed my entire body as if it was burning me.

"Argh!!! Damn it, this hurts."

I groaned accepting the magic energy rising inside my body. Slowly my body reformed to a new form in order to adjust to the amount of magic energy.

"Gahhh!"

My body felt like it was going to explode, I tried to let go of the sword but like a magnet it never came off.

Gritting my teeth, I tried to endure the pain radiating throughout my body. One by one, my milk senses lost function. My heartbeat quickened, my breathing became irregular, my face paled, my vision faded, and blood dripped from my nose, mouth, eyes, and ears.

"Arghhhh!!! I .... Must .... Survive."

My vision darkened, my body fell to the floor and my consciousness slowly faded into unconsciousness.
