Chapter 5: It Seems Boss Monsters Nowadays Are Getting Shrunk In The Wash
Zalroth whistled and held his hands behind his head as he strolled down an alleyway. Zalroth peered over at the sole cylinder metal garbage bin in the alleyway and smirked.
"I sure hope I won't get attacked by a powerful monster hiding by the only metal bin in this alleyway," Zalroth said with an obnoxiously loud voice, causing the metal bin to shake as a panicked girly voice emanated from inside. As Zalroth drew closer to the bin, the bin rapidly shook, and eventually toppled over and slammed on its side.
The bin's lid shot off the bin before its contents and a short figure in a tattered cloak spilt out of the bin. Zalroth crouched down by the figure and looked at the slightly dried blood stains on their cloak.
"Didn't think you were actually in the bin," Zalroth remarked with a surprised tone.
"Man...," the cloaked figure whined with a quiet girly voice. The figure sat up and their tattered cloak fell to pieces. The short figure was revealed to be a short child with some monster-like features. (she has razor-sharp spikey dark purple hair that goes down to her shoulders, a red left eye that didn't have a pupil, a pale purple right eye with a pink snake-like pupil, super pale purple skin [with dark pink scales over her forearms, hands, the bottom half of legs and feet], dark pink plated curved horns that have the appearance of a crescent moon, a long dark purple tail with a pale pink underside, and small dark pink spike running down her spine)
Zalroth made a long intrigued whistle noise, causing the child with non-human body parts to look up at him.
"Neeto," Zalroth said, causing the child to tilt their head at him with a perplexed look.
"Neet...oh?" the child asked with a girly tone.
"I mean I think you look cool," Zalroth explained. The child smiled at hearing a compliment from Zalroth.
"Oh...," the child muttered. Zalroth sat down on the ground and crossed his legs and arms.
"Do you mind if I ask you a few questions?" Zalroth requested.
"O-only if you let me ask my own, too," the child replied. Zalroth nodded as the child copied the way Zalroth was sitting.
"A," Zalroth said.
"Eight," the child said.
"G.".
"H.".
"H?" Zalroth asked perplexedly. The child blushed before shaking their head.
"I- I meant I!" the child blurted out.
"Right..., anyway. R?" Zalroth asked.
"DG," the child said as the blush faded from their face while averting their gaze from Zalroth and they itched their cheek.
"DG?" Zalroth asked perplexedly, causing the child to snap their head back at Zalroth in shock.
"Y-you don't know what DG means?" the child asked with surprise. Zalroth snickered, and the child looked at him with perplexed eyes.
"Look, kiddo, I've been in this world for less than an hour, so even a five-year-old would have better knowledge than I do," Zalroth said jokingly.
"Huh?" the child uttered. Zalroth smirked and placed a finger over his mouth.
"Let's just say I'm a guy who's outta this world if you catch my drift," Zalroth said while winking. The child mused over Zalroth's words before shaking their head defeatedly.
"I don't get it. You say you're not from this world, but you don't have any Kaiser Energy, so you can't be a Kaiser Beast...," the child murmured while rubbing their head as they overworked their brain.
"You can tell I don't have any?" Zalroth asked. The child nodded their head.
"Well, I'm a Devourer God Kaiser Beast...," the child muttered before lowering their head as they realised they just plainly outed themselves.
"Oh, is that what DG stands for?". The child meekly nodded their head while scratching their finger claw against the concrete ground.
"Ok, here's my last question, what's your name?" Zalroth asked while muttering he should have asked this question first. The child itched the back of their neck before looking at the ground with a glum look.
"Don't got one...".
"Why's that?".
"Kaiser Beasts don't name their children... just to let you know," the child said with a sulking tone.
"You want one?" Zalroth asked. The child looked up at Zalroth and mindlessly stared at him as they pondered over Zalroth's offer.
"O....kay," the child said as they choked over their word. Zalroth nodded before he placed a hand on his chin and brainstormed thousands of names for the child. Zalroth mentally joked he wished Chronia was here to think of a name for him before a name lit up in his mind.
"How about Kuuyasa?" Zalroth asked. The child was awe-struck and shyly held their hands together.
"Ok...," Kuuyasa said as a small smile crept onto their face. Zalroth smiled at seeing Kuuyasa smiling at receiving a name.
"Now, would you like to ask me your questions?" Zalroth asked. Kuuyasa placed their hands on her thighs as she hummed loudly.
"Erm... what's your name?" Kuuyasa asked.
"Zalroth.".
"Um... what are you...?" Kuuyasa asked but shivered midsentence.
"An Ultimate Kitsune.". Kuuyasa sat in shock at hearing Zalroth's response.
"Wait... you're not human!?" Kuuyasa asked.
"Nope. I'm a monster from another world, but one which isn't connected to this collection of realities slash realms," Zalroth explained, leaving Kuuyasa in awe.
"Can I see?".
"Maybe later, we have company," Zalroth uttered as he hopped to his feet. Kuuyasa wondered what Zalroth meant; she looked through the gap between Zalroth's legs and saw Oleka marching down the alleyway. Oleka stopped about a foot away from Zalroth as he continued to face Kuusaya.
"Stand back, sir; that's the boss of the nearby Broken A-Ranked Gate," Oleka said as she slammed the base of her silver pole into the ground and fire spewed out from the top and formed into a large spearhead.
"And what do you plan to do if I stand aside?" Zalroth asked with a serious tone. Oleka snobbishly rolled her eyes.
"Kill the escaped Gate Boss so the Broken Gate will close, duh; are you dumb or something?" Oleka asked with a bratty tone. Kuuyasa worriedly stood in front of Zalroth as she looked at Oleka as her Kaiser Energy radiated off her body.
"She must be a Ranker...," Kuuyasa muttered quietly as she clung to Zalroth's trousers.
"Does that mean she's strong?" Zalroth whispered to Kuuyasa as he crouched down in front of her. Kuuyasa worriedly nodded her head.
"Yeah... It means she's at least an S-Rank Hunter," Kuuysas whispered as Zalroth scooped them up in his arms and stood up. Oleka got into a combative stance as she saw Zalroth carrying Kuuyasa in his arms. Zalroth turned around to face Oleka while Kuuyasa clung tightly to Zalroth's tank top.
"Sorry kid, but I can't have you hurting this child," Zalroth remarked smugly as he gave Oleka a wink. Oleka groaned and rolled her eyes as she glared at Zalroth.
"Why are there always hunters who think they can tame Boss Type: Kaiser Beast," Oleka uttered with a bratty tone as she stared down Zalroth with a glare. Zalroth smirked as he repositioned Kuuyasa in his arms so she was only sitting on his left arm.
"I take it you're not going to back down now, are you?" Zalroth asked cheekily. Oleka mentally groaned but kept her poker face on as best she could.
"Duh, it's my job to deal with Kaiser Beast," Oleka barked as she placed her foot forward.
"And seeing as you seem to want to impede me in doing so. I'll have to apprehend you!" Oleka uttered under her breath. Oleka tensed her legs bolting for Zalroth and becoming a blur to Kuuyasa as she ran. Kuuyasa clung to Zalroth as Zalroth couldn't help but grin as he tracked Oleka's movements.
"I've been here for less than a day, but I've already been threatened with being arrested," Zalroth remarked to himself, causing Kuuyasa to panicly stare up at him.
"Is that common for you?" Kuuyasa whispered as Oleka was moments away from reaching the monster duo.
