Chapter 13: 13
Denris didn't know what to answer, looking away from
the deeply euphoric vampire, and realized that there was
no point in being angry with him anymore. Intimate
relationships with guys had always disgusted him, but
what happened between them was beyond his ideas
about same-sex intimacy.
It was useless to drive away the annoying vampire, who
would not let him out of the room and sang about his
feelings.
"You got what you wanted, why don't you leave?" Denris
wearily threw away the hands of Liorif, who muttered in
a velvety voice:
"I want to become your friend."
"Rapists can't be friends," Denris said caustically.
"Sorry, but you see that love between syrinxes is different
from human love. I was seized by passion, and I could not
help but possess you."
"I can't accept this kind of relationship."
Liorif again squeezed him in his arms, languidly sighing.
"This is normal in our society. And don't pretend you
didn't have those connections before."
"What are you talking about?" Denris's soul went cold.
"Tell you the details?" The vampire grinned. "I can even
name the man who squeezed you at the dawn of your
youth... You were eighteen years old, and he was much
older... Right?"
"What? And where does this information come from?"
"I can easily see the past: a tall blond man with green eyes
was close to you..."
"There was nothing between us!" Shouted Denris
indignantly under his laughter.
"Well, well... But do you know that he lives with us in
Illuria, reincarnated? Still a child, but the facial features
are the same. You could recognise him easily… He
followed you in spirit and was reborn on our planet.
There was nothing between you, you say? What kind of
love is so fabulous... I'm jealous!"
"And what is the name of this boy?" Denris frowned.
"The same name - Yarion. And he know about you, by the
way... So what?"
Liorif's eyes sparkled questioningly.
"What?" Denris said in bewilderment.
"Accept me as friend and lover. Don't refuse my
protection. You will be able to walk freely with me
around the city, none of the vamps will touch you
anymore."
"Will everyone know that you are my lover?"
"There are no secrets in our society."
"Does this mean that everyone is afraid of you?"
"It is called - respect! I am ancient and powerful."
"How old are you?"
"Two thousand!"
Denris' surprise knew no bounds.
"But… you look about twenty-five years old, although you
are much larger than me in size..."
"There are much older than me, but they are few. There
is only young syrinxes around, and not everyone has the
energy that attracts me. I was excited by the arrival of
aliens and watched for them a long time, especially you."
"What is that feeling you talk about all the time? How do
you sense my energy?"
"When you become a vampire, you will understand."
"Will I become a vampire?"
"Certainly! Three hundred years later... or even less...
Well, I'll try to describe it in order to establish some kind
of mutual understanding with you... I'm tormented by a
burning flame, tearing apart from the inside. Unbearable
unless merged. We call this the gravitation of passion.
You consider me a rapist, but I could not restrain myself,
I urgently need to quench this thirst. One can't handle it."
"Do you feel better now?" said Denris caustically.
"Yes! But I won't leave you soon."
"How many fusions do you need to get enough of me."
"I do not know for sure. Until the gravitation stops."
"Do you only choose men?"
"Not at all, I have had many women, but gender is not
important, syrinxes do not choose who to love.
Everything is decided by the inner flame; it looks for a
way out for merging when it senses the right energy."
"Sounds like total nonsense to me," Denris muttered. "I
love only one woman..."
"I know about Rianka, but you will not bring her back: she
will never get out of the hands of our mighty Overlord.
His strength is so magnetic, if he likes her, so no chance
to escape his affection. Somehow you will meet the
gravitation of your passion. And do not forget, accepting
someone's strong feelings will turn out to be of great
benefit to you: your magic will increase many times
over."
"I don't believe that you have real feelings, just ordinary
lust!" Denris snapped angrily, trying to free himself from
the forced embrace.
Denris realized with bitter regret that he would not be
able to get rid of his attention soon. Having nothing to do,
he dutifully went with him for a walk around the city in
full view of everyone.
Liorif was very proud of himself that he forced the alien
Radiance to submit to him, and humiliated Denris was
given the opportunity to move freely among the many
syrinxes under the protection of the patron.
There were plenty of them who wanted to get to know
him, they behaved very modestly and restrainedly, they
didn't even touch them with their hands, only their
burning eyes betrayed their desire for closer
communication. Tall and strong winged ones looked at
him with interest, but not everyone dared to approach
him - the high status of his patron stopped any claims.
On the same day Liorif dragged him to his tower.
"I would invite you to live with me, but I see that you can
hardly stand me," said Liorif with displeasure, showing
the chambers to his beloved.
