Chapter 19: The face of a rain frog once more
Azmuth's expression transformed into a mask of stoicism.
His features settling into a calm demeanor that belied the turmoil within.
With a graceful wave of his hand, That he gestured towards the holographic screen hovering before him.
The display shifted to a new perspective.
Albedo hastily wiped away the remnants of his tears and spoke up, his voice trembling slightly yet filled with determination.
"Ah, yes, yes! It's nearly complete," he declared, a spark of enthusiasm igniting in his eyes at the sudden change of his boss.
"However, the energy source necessary to sustain it is still not ready."
Nodding thoughtfully, Azmuth contemplated the situation, weighing the implications of Albedo's words.
"You should bring it here," he suggested, his tone encouraging.
"That way, we can finalize the project together with similar DNA!"
A hesitant smile crept onto Azmuth's lips, a fleeting moment of warmth amidst his typical not caring attitude.
Yet, thoughts of his preference for solitude flitted through his mind.
Particularly when it came to collaborating with someone like Albedo.
The young scientist was an unwavering perfectionist.
Both a boon and a challenge or a curse to him.
Without wasting a moment, Albedo turned on his heel and departed, intent on retrieving his version of the Omnitrix.
Azmuth stood there.
Momentarily dumbfounded, a wave of embarrassment washing over him.
His face flushed crimson, swelling slightly in a manner reminiscent of a rain frog once more.
A most uncharacteristic display for someone of his intellect but for his current age.
Taking a deep breath, Azmuth inhaled slowly.
Then exhaled, allowing the color of his face to gradually return to its usual hue.
'I'm far too intelligent for this,' he chanted mentally like a mantra, desperate to avoid further humiliation.
Shifting his focus to Null, he inquired.
"There's something weighing on my mind"
"It would require your assistance, if you could, of course!"
I was taken aback.
Wasn't this request rather sudden? Curiosity filled my thoughts as I pondered what sort of assistance he might need.
With a simple nod of agreement, Azmuth pressed on, his voice steady yet laced with urgency.
"There are certain races that are exceedingly difficult to approach."
"Would you be willing to accompany me for a while to assist with this endeavor?"
As Azmuth concluded his question, my mind raced at the prospect of embarking on a small adventure.
Perhaps even a journey through this universe or maybe this multiverse of endless possibilities?
Before I could formulate a response.
A small white glow began to radiate from the center of the spaceship.
The light pulsed gently, then faded away to reveal Albedo standing in its place, his expression marred by irritation.
"Why was the teleportation so agonizingly slow?"
he exclaimed, frustration spilling from his words.
"That wasn't how it was supposed to happen!"
"And that blinding white light do you have any idea how much I value my precious eyes!"
"Stupid machine!"
Albedo paused mid-rant, suddenly aware of the two pairs of eyes fixed upon him.
Embarrassment washed over him as he straightened his posture, attempting to regain some semblance of dignity.
"Hello, Lord Null, um, Creator God, Sir... or, um…"
he stumbled, searching for the appropriate title.
"Celestial Sapien, Null," I interjected, helping him to find his footing.
"Or just Null"
