Chapter 16. Anonymous Dagger
“Don’t worry about the costs, little lad. It only costs a silver coin,” the vendor said with a reassuring smile as I heaved a relieved sigh as Mana took out a silver coin from her pocket and placed it on the cart before the vendor smiled as he happily took it.
“Thanks for the meal,” both Mana and I said at the same time, standing up as the bulky man patted both of our heads.
“No worries laddies! Feel free to come by at any time. It’s us vendor’s duty to serve and satisfy our customers, after all!” he said before the two of us nodded as we soon left the vicinity where I looked at Mana who seems to be full.
“Where are we heading next?” I asked before she looked at her wrist where a watch rested before turning her attention back at me as she inquired, “Where do you want to head next. We still have fourteen hours before closing time.”
“Hmm, how about we purchase a weapon first?” I suggested before she looked around the vicinity, nodding afterward before walking straight down as we soon stopped before a building with a single large glass panel on its front wall.
The glass panel displayed different kinds of weapons from long black metallic spears to dark blue daggers; shields and armors; gauntlets and kneecaps. It also showed the entire shop’s interior which was fairly packed with people, around eight in total.
“Excuse us…” Mana said as we pushed open the door, entering inside as tiny bells clanged from atop like an ordinary modern store.
The interior was all wooden, large shields hanged all over the walls with swords hid away in scabbards placed on a stand like an umbrella stand. There were also bows and daggers stashed at the very left of the place and chain mails, leather armors, and all other kinds of stuff on the other side.
“How may I help you?” a brown-haired double-dutch braided girl questioned as she sat on top of the counter, brandishing a silver short sword on her right arm.
“We’d like to buy a dagger please,” Mana said as she walked towards the girl before she looked at me for a second with a piercing gaze before placed the sword onto the counter, hopping off and walking towards the dagger section as she plucked a dagger and a bow.
“These two should be the most compatible with the girl over there,” she said whilst walking back towards our direction, carrying a crystal white bow that was like ice and a matte black dagger with a blue handle.
I was surprised over how she understood that I can use bows through the archery class, more than that, I am startled by how she could also pick a weapon suitable for me through a single glance. It was as if she had a skill of some sort.
All of a sudden, two blue windows popped out showing me all the details of the weapons, in particular, the dagger was the most unique amongst the two.

It was like the cliché in all mangas. The main character finds a rusty old sword that everyone thought is useless but then soon realizes that the sword is the Holy Excalibur and becomes a hero with a large harem that even the Gods would be jealous of.
“What do you say. You are free to test it out if you wish,” the girl said as she placed the weapons on the counter before Mana looked at me as if gesturing me to test it out but instead I shook my head and responded with confidence.
“I don’t need to test them out… I can feel that they are the most compatible to me…”
As if noticing the reason why I decided not to test the weapons, the girl smiled as she walked towards the back of the counter before saying, “If that’s the case then let’s start processing the purchase then, all in all, it will cost a total of five gold coins.”
“Five gold coins?!” Mana looked in shock as I happily took out five gold coins and placed them on the counter without utilizing the badge as the girl smiled, taking them before wrapping the weapons in a leather bag and handing them to us before bowing down.
“Thanks for the purchase!”
After the transaction, I took the leather bag and hung it on my back before Mana grabbed my shoulders and asked, “Isn’t it a little bit too suspicious?!” before I shook my head and smiled.
“It’s fine… I can tell that these two are great,” I responded before she sighed, releasing me as she waved her hand and said, “Whatever!” before out of the blue, a loud scream came from the outside, startling us as we ran out before a girl covered in a deer hoodie came to sight, surrounded by several men.
